We're Team Doris - a group of education enthusiasts, former international school parents, and international school admissions experts.

From personal experience, we understand that choosing a school overseas is one of the biggest decisions a family will ever make. But despite how important this decision is, the current experience for parents is often disappointing. Schools tend to say similar things and sound the same, and although there's plenty of information available, it's often generic, biased, and downright confusing.

We thought it was time for a change. To solve this problem and make the experience 10x better for parents, we're building doris. doris is a marketplace that provides families with informative, unbiased, and easy-to-understand school recommendations and comparisons. It's completely free for parents and 100% impartial.

About the role

At doris we believe in keeping things simple: we work cross-functionally with a focus on key business outcomes, and we have minimal ceremonies / meetings. In Tech we prefer collaboration (e.g. pairing, conversation) and trust by default (e.g. Trunk-based), rather than using tools to communicate and opening PRs (they should basically never be used). We value quality code and end-to-end ownership, small and frequent iterations and commits, and getting fast feedback from both the codebase and customers.

Therefore, you will enjoy:

a) working closely with other devs and people across disciplines

b) shipping to prod multiple times a day and caring that what you ship works

c) taking initiative and improving things as we go along - boy scout principle

In practice, this may range from building an entire new feature, or taking on a large refactoring in small and sensible steps.

First and foremost we are looking for someone sensible, with great communication and who enjoys building quality systems from the ground up. Bonus if you enjoy full-stack development but not required.
