Octovis is expanding its technology team as we scale our property-tech platform across Malaysia. We are seeking a Senior Programmer Lead who can architect, build, and optimise our next-generation systems. This role is pivotal to our product roadmap, covering backend architecture, system infrastructure, mobile app development, security hardening, and leading a small but fast-moving engineering team.

The Senior Programmer Lead will take ownership of system architecture and full-stack development, with a strong emphasis on Laravel, backend performance, mobile application development (Flutter), and infrastructure reliability. You will guide technical decisions, ensure code quality, and translate business requirements into scalable solutions. This position requires a hands-on leader who is able to both code and manage the technical direction of the product across web, API, and mobile platforms.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The role requires leadership over the full engineering cycle, including system planning, API development, mobile development, infrastructure deployment, and continuous optimisation. You will:

Design and maintain backend services in Laravel using modular, secure, and scalable architecture patterns. Lead the development and optimisation of mobile applications using Flutter (iOS & Android). Oversee and manage cloud infrastructure setup (AWS, GCP, or similar). Ensure system stability and scalability as Octovis integrates e-KYC, IoT devices, insurance modules, and partner-connected services. Implement CI/CD pipelines for both backend and mobile app deployments. Perform code reviews, mentor junior developers, manage sprints, and troubleshoot high-severity incidents. Collaborate closely with product, UI/UX, and operations teams to align features with business workflows across both web and mobile platforms.

JOB REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

Deep proficiency in Laravel and modern PHP development, including API design, queues, middleware, and database optimisation. Strong experience with Flutter for cross-platform mobile development (Dart language, state management, performance optimisation). Solid understanding of system infrastructure:
- Linux server administration

- Load balancing & high availability

- Docker & container orchestration

- CI/CD pipelines

- Security hardening & performance tuning

Experience architecting scalable SaaS platforms and managing cloud environments (AWS/GCP/Azure). Strong knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL including optimisation and query tuning. Advantage: integrating third-party APIs, payment gateways, IoT backends, or identity verification systems (e-KYC). Leadership mindset with at least 5-7 years of development experience, including managing or mentoring other developers.

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

RM8,000 - RM10,000 of basic salary (Remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualification) Statutory Contribution: EPF + SOCSO + EIS

Monday - Friday; 9.00am - 6.00pm
