Talk with the external and the front end team, understand market/customer requirements to define system architecture for Server & Storage products.The Staff Engineer, Hardware Design works with cross functional teams with other designers, customers, manufacturing engineering and project leadership to ensure robust and high quality product development. Enhance designs with feedback from reviews in areas such as manufacturing, test, supply chain, reliability, industrial design and simulations. Provide support throughout the manufacturing process of the electrical/mechanical system that they have designed.
The Staff Engineer, Hardware Design (Electrical) develops new electrical systems/circuits for various applications. Research system ideas and draw up plans for these systems, and capture them in schematics and system specifications. Test, simulate, validate and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed
The Staff Engineer, Hardware Design (Mechanical) develops new mechanical systems/modules and maintains existing designs. Research mechanical concepts and create system solutions using 3D modeling and simulation software. Complete calculations and test, validate, and qualify their systems and make adjustments as needed.Detailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Lead technical proposal for customer RFQs
• Define white box products\' architecture and elaborate detail requirements
• Lead system level building blocks
• Join critical trouble shooting and provide suggestion

Electrical:

• Creation of Schematics, Bills of material, diagrams, drawings, etc.
• Analyzing and interpreting data and information
• Creating reports and documentation

Experience: * 10+ years electrical design experience.

• Familiar with Rack-mounted Server & Storage product architecture.
• Familiar with Intel and AMD x86 platform
• Familiar with some mainstream chipsets or solutions such as PCIe switch, SAS
• expander, Ethernet controller
• Advanced understanding of relevant technologies, specifically Edge Computing,
• NVMEoF, DDR4/5, PCIe Gen3/4/5, 100G/200G Ethernet.
• Advanced understanding of vendor products and competitor\'s offerings.
• Has good experience in multi-layer PCB design

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Understand key components and familiar with major suppliers
• Has good insight on different system solutions and sense on cost.
• Understand product, mechanical, thermal, signal integrity, compliance
• requirement and software interface. Can balance different functions.
• Good communication skills to lead team on technical proposal and system
• definition.
• Good communication in English

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional travel may be required.
