We are currently looking to hire Senior Structural Engineer to be based in our site in Perak. Selected candidate will be responsible and accountable for technical decision on preserving, maintenance and reliability of steel structures of Vale Malaysia Minerals. Their main deliverable of this role is to ensure that these structures are safe, functional, meets local regulatory requirement and Vale\'s technical normative standards. The position holder will inspect, analyze, and provide recommendation to preserve the functionalities of steel structures for safe operations. Main responsibilities Reports to Head of Engineering. Assist engineering and reliability to review, analyze and create actions based on inspection findings of steel and civil structure YPMs. Create scope of work (SOW) for third party company engagement to reparation and maintenance of steel and civil structures. Responsible to analyze effectiveness of maintenance plans (YPM) is ensuring maintenance strategy adequately covers civil and steel structure integrity for safe and reliable operation. Participate and provide technical guidance to engineering, maintenance, reliability and planning team in root cause analysis for failures associated with integrity of steel and civil structures. Conduct audits and compliance inspections for risk controls based on Vale\'s risk normative requirements for control associated with steel and civil structural integrity. Responsible to conduct periodic qualitative and quantitative assessment on structural integrity of steel and civil structures for early detection of potential failures. Collaborate with structural integrity team of Vale operations at other locations to share technical best practices, new initiatives, industry trends and innovative technologies to structural integrity improvements as site. Responsible to prepare scope of work (SOW) and technical guides for maintenance team to conduct repair and modification of structures with compliance to normative and international standards. Provide technical leadership and training to local team in planning, understanding, execution, inspection, and quality control of matters related to maintenance and reliability of steel and civil structures at site. Responsible for issuance of periodic technical reports of VMM assets indicating good practices and area for improvement with actions to ensure strategic goals for VMM are met. At any time, Vale can review, at its own discretion, the job roles, and responsibilities according to its strategy. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor\'s degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Experience : 7- 10 years of experience working with steel and civil structural analysis and engineering applied to material handling equipment of port or heavy industries. Advanced knowledge in structural analysis, analytical, and finite element analysis (SAP200, RFEM, Ansys and/or FEMAP) of machines/equipment and steel structures. Knowledge in assessment, repair, fitness for service and reinforcement of existing steel structures. Knowledge in paintings and treatment for corrosion protection. Knowledge in structural integrity management and inspection techniques. Knowledge in (Steel structures for belt conveyors and buildings) Eurocodes 3; AISC 360; ABNT NBR 8800; or similar.
