Lead new supplier approval by conducting on-site Vertiv Supplier Audit (VSAC), completing product compliance, on-site evaluation of technical capability, investigating nonconformance identified by customer.
Conduct supplier surveillance on-site audit to proactively identify areas for improvement opportunities.
Monitor supplier process control performance, identify the potential issues, and lead resolution and prevention by developing robust quality control plans and implementing sustainable corrective actions.
Evaluate and improve product quality and reliability performance using techniques such as Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEA), Design for Manufacturability/Testability (DFX), audits, and in-line parametric Quality Control test.
Lead Vertiv supplier performance improvement by partnering with supplier to identify, understand and resolve issues for New Product Introduction, Engineering First Article Inspection (FAI) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) as well as Mass Production.
Work closely with suppliers to understand the nature of the issue and get definite corrective action initiated in Vertiv plant, Field failure or customer compliant.
Lead problem definition and problem solving through containment, identification of root cause and corrective action with Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) as well as verify the effectiveness of action taken by the supplier.
Work with internal cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Service, Manufacturing / Operations, Sales, Procurement/Commodity, Offering Management, and Plants Quality to resolve supplier quality issues impacting Vertiv plant and customers.
Provide consultation to design, manufacturing and commodity teams in the selection, sourcing, qualification, and application of components and suppliers used in Vertiv products.
Establish product quality standards for Vertiv's suppliers and quality targets to include reduction/prevention of Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) and warranty reduction.
Drive permanent resolution of supplier issues reported by Vertiv plants or customers.
Develop 8D and supplier performance reports on supplier quality issues to communicate internally and externally on outcomes of investigations.
Report the effectiveness of supplier actions taken throughout organization as well as manage risk by collaborating with cross-functional team and suppliers.
Conduct global supplier business reviews with procurement managers for reviewing quality, supplier performance, technology roadmaps, business growth strategies, supply market changes, negotiated best price, service levels and delivery terms for purchased products and services.
Ability to simplify complex information and concisely prepare both verbal and written executive summaries to Leadership Team.
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Job Qualifications:
5-8 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineer role or related field.
Skilled and experienced with reading and understanding engineering drawing and specification, dimensions, and tolerances.
Demonstrated ability to independently develop, manage and implement aggressive project plans.
Can manage multiple tasks by clarifying priority, complexity, and severity as well as plan to complete these tasks in timely manner.
Can work closely with cross-functionally, open minded with people in other functions.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
Must be PC proficient, with solid knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Perform all job duties in a safe manner and obey all safety policies and procedures.

Experienced with quality control techniques including 8-D, 5 Whys, Fishbone, Pareto, PPAP, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Production Control Plan, Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR), Lessons Learn and Best Practice, CIP, etc.
Strong background in applying statistical tools for process and product development and control including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Process Capability Index (Cpk), Gage Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R), Six Sigma, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Material & Process, Metal Fabrication/Machining, Manufacturing, Electromechanical Assembly, etc.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
Engineering / Technical degree or equivalent technical experience with minimum 8 years of work experience.
