Job Description

This Kuala Lumpur based role is a senior systems engineer position providing high quality and timely support to ensure the availability, stability, and performance of FNZ Capital Markets systems in support of global enterprise clients.
Role responsibilities

• To build and deploy FNZ Capital Markets (CM) Linux & Database environments in an AWS environment.
• To support and maintain FNZ CM client applications running in an AWS environment.
• To manage supported databases.
• To work with PM's and outline activities and estimates for environment builds.
• Competent in administration of Linux variants, RHEL / OEL predominantly.
• Proficient in administration of one of the Database variants listed (Progress, PostgreSQL / Aurora)
• Demonstrate competency scripting languages, as well as a good level of understanding and competency in at least two. (Shell, Python and Perl)
• Administration of AWS resources.
• Basic understanding in Java/JBoss administration.
• Consistently work to improve your knowledge and competency in the technical skills used by the team.
• Manage your time effectively to complete assigned project work within the agreed timeframes. Where timeframes will not be met, provide prompt notice to the manager of the project or direct report.

Who we are looking for?
Essential

• Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering OR comparable industry certification
• Good knowledge of Redhat systems administration
• Good knowledge in Postgres / Aurora or Progress DBA
• Reasonable networking knowledge
• Demonstrated scripting ability i.e. Shell, Python and Perl
• Good communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Able to work in a team environment
• Work A/H, shifts & on call according to roster (attractive allowances on offer)

Advantageous

• Red hat certifications
• AWS experience
• Able to work independently.
• Good documentation skills.
• Able to assist/mentor other team members
