Role Responsibilities

This role resides within the Standard Chartered Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Technology Business Management Office, under TTO Performance Management organization. The TBM Office is responsible for delivering greater cost transparency through the TBM program, engaging with stakeholders across the organization in adopting TBM best practices and embedding the discipline of managing \xe2\x80\x9cIT like a business\xe2\x80\x9d. The team is responsible for the management and ongoing enhancement of the Apptio platform at Standard Chartered Bank.

The Senior TBM Technical Analyst will be responsible for:

  • Providing modelling and associated report development and implement solutions for TTO and TTO Finance stakeholders within the Apptio platform enabling unit costing of IT services
  • Manage and support the timely delivery of the agreed key TBM team deliverables via multiple action tracking documents and be part of the change the bank strategy
  • Provide innovative ways to solution new Actionable Insights through a structured stakeholder engagement program
  • Providing subject matter expertise for the SCB Apptio solution and act as technical support for maintaining the integrity of the tool and ensuring it is fit for purpose to support the business needs

Role Tasks & Deliverables
  • Ensure smooth delivery of revisions to configurations in line with the TBM framework and stakeholder requirements
  • Create and maintain models and reports using the TBM Studio within the Apptio platform
  • Work in collaboration with the various data sources / data providers and drive continuously for data quality and completeness
  • Drive a continuous improvement approach to refining the methodology, reports, and quality of data inputs in partnership with key TTO and TTO Finance stakeholders.
  • Ensure good housekeeping within the Apptio tool by driving a \xe2\x80\x98hygiene\xe2\x80\x99 set of controls around naming conventions, timeliness of updates, standardisation, removal of old data etc.
  • Manage the design and implementation of \xe2\x80\x98change windows\xe2\x80\x99 to accommodate structural changes in the organisation that has a downstream impact on Apptio
  • Embed a rigorous set of processes for delivering month end data load and report validation requirements
  • a check on the performance of the application by liaising with the vendor teams / help desks and ensure application uptime and availability
  • Review the model fallout regularly, identify the root cause and ensure that they are addressed in a timely manner
  • Address the queries related to report and associated data on a timely manner responding back to the requester on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure that schedule of planned service changes is well documented and support the creation of release notes
  • Formally raise all system, operations, and performance issues with Apptio using the established incident process
  • Work with the Apptio to manage any systems maintenance outages, successfully apply bug fixes/patches where required, and help upgrade when major releases become available
  • Engage with vendor regularly to review the performance of the Apptio environments
  • Ensure solution is kept within the risk and compliance frameworks of the bank

  • The role will suit individuals who can couple a strong understanding of technology cost information with the provision of business insights
  • Experience of building and maintaining software analytic and reporting tools
  • Advanced knowledge on IT systems and processes
  • Experience on conducting software functionality training in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong ability to craft and edit stakeholder communications
  • Knowledge about various file types (excel, csv, delimited, etc.)
  • Knowledge about routine monthly load process cycle
  • Knowledge of how a web application functions
  • Good knowledge of IT landscape of a large financial service organizations
  • Strong Knowledge business intelligence / data modelling and analytics tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of basic accounting terminology and cost allocation, service pricing and recharge processes
  • Advanced Excel skills with VLOOKUP and pivot table expertise
  • Highly analytical and can quickly visualize data flow and underlying dependencies from bird\xe2\x80\x99s eye perspective
  • Logical skills, to be able to understand logical if statements and understanding of various datatypes
  • Able to work diligently and meticulously meet firm deadlines
  • Keenness to learn new tools and techniques quickly - on the fly, on the job, on the go
  • Able to handle difficult situations calmly and can consistently deliver tasks which includes report creation to mapping configuration using Apptio
  • Self-motivated and self-starting attitude
  • Ability to respond to stakeholder and colleague queries in a prompt and complete manner

  • Reasonable level of presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills
Desirable
  • TBM certification: Certified Technology Business Management Executive (CTBME)
  • Project management certification: PMP by PMI or CBAP by IIBA
  • IT service management best practice framework certification: ITIL
  • Experiences with UI/UX or Dashboard design
  • Apptio-specific knowledge on data modelling and allocation ways would be desirable
  • configuration and development using RAD or any other equivalent methodology
  • Skilled in relational database structures and skilled in database like Microsoft Access
  • Skilled in resolving data discrepancy and configuration issues through analysis of data pattern, data relation and dependency analysis
  • Automation skills to improve the manual processes using interpreter driven scripting languages like VB or Macro scripting would be an added advantage
  • Skills to convert file types interchangeably to suit system requirements
  • Facilitating the training of new Apptio users
