Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in safety programs and achievement of set safety targets.
  • Support customers in technical enquiries and be the key technical contact of local accounts. Collaborate with customers to develop projects, raise service levels and understand needs, for the purpose of value creation.
  • Participate in lab / plant trials at customer sites.
  • Drive growth in the specialties business by offering differentiated solutions.
  • Manage Technical Service Lab and carry out lab analysis of food products / prototypes from customers.
  • Handle customers' enquiries on regulatory issues through issuance of statements and completion of such questionnaires. Provide regular and timely update of local food regulations.
  • Organize and conduct seminars / training for customers and internal sales team.
  • Manage technical service activities and optimize resources allocations with the aim of continuous improvement.
  • Manage project pipeline and align technical service programs with go-to-market teams to achieve sales and springboard goals
  • Explore new opportunities/applications via working closely with application teams (segments) and springboard teams.
  • Be the main conduit with the regional technology teams and leverage expertise teams to drive Innovation Promise and New Initiatives sales in Malaysia (and Singapore).
  • Maintain up-to-date information on food trends and technology and contributes new products ideas/concepts for various food applications.
  • Develop and maintain regional and global networks to share best practices and leverage resources to drive innovation.
Qualified candidates will have:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in food industry preferably in Technical Service (customer-facing), Product Development or Application function.
  • Broad knowledge and good understanding of food ingredients and applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and technical acumen.
  • Degree in Food Science or science related disciplines.
  • Computer and Project Skills with proficiency level (ie. Office, Six Sigma).
  • Fluent in English and good written skills. Fluency in Bahasa Melayu is a plus.
  • Possess capability and drive to initiate and implement action plans.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deal with pressures and ambiguity.
  • Self-motivated with can-do attitude.
  • Flexibility in working hours required. Selected applicant may need to work offsite from time to time, outside normal working hours.
  • Willingness to travel, estimated once every quarter, as per business needs - 75% domestic travelling (interstate), 25% to Singapore.
