About the Role

The Senior Technician will provide operational and technical support across a range of core operational activities along with product engineering lifecycle. One is expected to be able to work autonomously within the established procedures and practices to handle routine lab works, adapt to variety of processes and lab activities and act as an escalation point for junior colleagues based on understanding, analysis, and experiences.

The role would sit within Engineering Technician Team under the Technology Development Department.

Accountabilities

• To set up, perform and report on various tests to evaluate products in process of exploration, evaluation, and development to determine acceptable levels of performance and reliability. Contribute meaningful opinions and ideas to manage engineering technical problems.
• To demonstrate hands on understanding of product and provide guidance and training to relevant operators.
• To maintain lab workspace condition according to good 5S practice by ensuring cleanliness and plan operating standards are always met.
• To work alongside With team members and other cross-functional groups on projects; contribute by sharing experiences, ideas and hands on working prototypes.
• To maintain the equipment repeatability and reproducibility such that the conformity of data accuracy for each evaluation is achievable.
• To assist the debug and evaluation for the acceptance of new equipment.
• To code, build and evaluate few engineering ideas prior to prototypes.
• To be an active team member to support any new technology exploration and its implementation in the response to relevant market learning or expectation.
• To work within scheduled timelines with timely updates and feedback to stakeholders or/and team leads.

About You

• Previous work experiences & relevant technical exposure:

• Engineering Diploma, or equivalent experience with technical training equivalent to a technical degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform technical tasks and 3 years or more of experience.
• Have working knowledge and exposure in various mechanical, electronics and electrical components and integrated applications.
• Ability to implement basic statistical techniques (i.e. ANOVA, T-test) and apply right aptitude in engineering problem-solving for effective root cause analysis and the effect interactive parameters.
• Experience in leading any activities to ensure a clean and conducive working environment.
• Ability to apply basic knowledge of measurement system analysis (i.e. GR&R) and good practice of measurement techniques on the areas of noise-vibration measurement and pressure-flow measurement
• Ability to establish good operation procedure of various equipment.
• Good proficiency in English Technical Writing and its Communication.

• Willing to take on challenges to drive additional initiative such as Lab continual improvement under Kaizen-direct improvement, systematic approach via 6Sigma project and Quality Control Circle, QCC.
• Passion for engineering and a desire to participate in engaging discussions, collaborate with colleagues and engineers to enhance the overall lab and team operation efficiency-effectiveness.
• Humble and have the excellent aptitude in exploration-evaluation-development driven technology and product-features innovation.
