Job title: Senior Traffic Engineer Location: Hybrid WFH / Bangsar South Office We are seeking a qualified and motivated to fill the position of Senior Traffic Engineer and to join the Transport and Traffic consulting team in our Mutiara Damansara office. We are looking for someone comfortable planning and supervising all aspects of TIAs and traffic studies, including discussions with and presentations to clients and local authorities. MDS Traffic Planners and Consultants has been involved in planning, design and transport modelling of road, rail, marine, and air infrastructure in Malaysia, and a wide variety of locations globally since 1993. The traffic team focuses on TIAs for private sector and government authorities, as well as a variety of traffic studies customized to client demands. You will be supervising a small but growing team of enthusiastic Junior Traffic Engineers to ensure we continue to meet our clients\xe2\x80\x99 high standards. We strongly believe in staff development, and as such an important aspect of the role is knowledge transfer within the team. As the Senior Traffic Engineer, you will be reporting directly to the Associate Director. List of Tasks/Responsibilities: 1. Lead, plan, train, and supervise the work of engineering staff responsible for Traffic Impact Assessments and other traffic and transportation projects; verify the work of assigned employees for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications. 2. Present TIA and traffic studies to Clients, approving authorities, and other stakeholders. 3. Supervise and review the planning and interpretation of survey data; take responsibility for reports on traffic issues such as speeding, volume, circulation patterns, roadway capacity, accidents, parking requirements and projected traffic lanes needed. 4. Review plans for junction and interchange layouts & mitigation prepared by consultants as part of TIAs and transport studies to see that they meet established specifications. 5. Review development plans and make recommendations regarding traffic circulation patterns, roadway capacity and other traffic related issues; 6. Liaise and coordinate with developers and consultants to resolve issues; 7. Provide traffic mitigation options that allow for minimum delay at each intersection; review proposed mitigation of consultants. 8. Provide information to stakeholders about traffic operations and planning for future projects; attend meetings with local and state authorities related to traffic projects. 9. Participate in business development for transportation projects including supervising the preparation of proposals (technical and commercial) and providing input and feedback on business development initiatives. 10. Perform related duties as required. Your Profile: 1. Minimum 5 years of traffic engineering experience in Malaysia, including responsibility for TIA preparation and presentation 2. Proven track record in all facets of traffic analysis, intersection design and preparation of plans, reports, and proposals 3. Experience and familiarity with local authority and State/Federal JKR requirements. 4. Proficiency with common analytical software packages for traffic engineering such as Sidra or PTV Vistro. Familiarity with PTV Vissim and experience with demand planning software (EMME, CUBE, Visum) is a plus. 5. Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills in BM and English. 6. Ability to self-direct and work independently based on targets and goals 7. Ability to schedule workload, meet deadlines and project deliverables.
