Primary Details Time Type: Full time

To provide quality and efficient service to agents, brokers and customers, to formulate and implement strategies in order to increase market share and to achieve objectives for the business growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Strategy and Planning
  • Develop a plan for the acquisition and processing of all high importance partnerships and other external agents and delivers value to the product/solution development and sales channels
  • Assist with planning and implementing strategies to build and retain high value intermediaries to achieve production sales
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets for sales and expenses and managing of the budget
  • Policy, Process and Procedures
  • Develops and implements continuous improvement actions and alternatives for customer service and support
  • Ensure all compliance is adhered to in managing people and the provision of information, products and services to customers
  • Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus
  • Understanding of QBE and own area of expertise to identify key relationships that should be initiated or improved to achieve positive results; communicate and exchange information with potential partner areas to clarify benefits and potential problems
  • Develop strong relationships with the partners and other external agents in order to achieve high levels of commitment and participation in joint arrangements to maximize revenue growth
  • Technical Performance
  • Review existing portfolios and recommend strategies for penetrate growth
  • Assess and recommend emerging partners or clients for suitability of incorporation into the business, in line with the collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders
  • Support the launch of new products and services
  • People Management
  • Motivate and develop the team by demonstrating good leadership behaviors and through the use of management best practice, to enable development of staff to support the achievement of business goals
  • Providing expertise and mentoring to assist the team development
Preferred Competencies/Skills
  • Demonstrated planning, prioritization and organization skills
  • Strong client orientation/customer service skills
  • Strong analytical, leadership, communication & interpersonal skills
  • Sound PC skills
Preferred Education Specifics
  • Professional qualification in insurance or related disciplines or degree holder preferred
Preferred Experience
  • 10+ years relevant experience in general servicing and underwriting with at least 5 years in managerial capacity
Preferred Knowledge
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance sales/business development function
