Purpose
Lecturer in Entrepreneurship / Associate Professor in Entrepreneurship will contribute to teaching, research, and service within the Henley Business School. The role supports the delivery and continuous improvement of the undergraduate programmes, contributes to the School's research activities, academic citizenship and engages with industry and professional bodies.
Team Structure
The Henley Business School Malaysia at the University of Reading Malaysia is led by the Head of Section, who provides overall strategic direction and academic leadership. Programme Leads manage individual disciplines and ensure quality delivery. Academic staff are responsible for teaching, research, and student supervision. Administrative staff support day-to-day operations, student services, and coordination across the Section.
Main duties and responsibilities
Teaching
Deliver high-quality teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, using innovative and inclusive pedagogies.
Lead modules in areas relevant to Social enterprise, Entrepreneurship, Not-for-profit organisation, Strategy and International Business, and Business enterprise.
Contribute to undergraduate courses by preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, seminars, practical classes, etc, and through marking, providing feedback and project supervision.
Preparing, marking and moderating coursework and examinations, as required.
Show flexibility and be prepared to develop and teach material both within and outside their own immediate research interests.
Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement to ensure alignment with industry standards and accreditation requirements.
Support student learning through academic advising, mentoring, and feedback.
Research
Develop and lead independent and collaborative research projects in priority areas of marketing.
Publish high-quality research outputs in peer-reviewed journals.
Apply for and secure internal and external research funding.
Build research collaborations within the University and with industry partners, locally and internationally.
Supervise and mentor undergraduate and postgraduate research students.
Academic Citizenship
Contribute to the academic governance of the School, serving on relevant committees and working groups.
Support the strategic development of the School's teaching and research priorities.
Promote an inclusive and collegial culture within the School and University.
Contribute to staff mentoring and development.
Uphold and model the University's values, policies, and quality assurance standards.
Others (Industry Engagement, Administration, and Marketing)
Engage with industry and professional bodies to enhance programme relevance, graduate employability, and research impact.
Contribute to the School's events, outreach, and partnership activities.
Undertake administrative duties as assigned.
Represent the School at University, industry, and professional events.
Support marketing and student recruitment activities for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including participating in promotional events, developing marketing materials, and liaising with prospective students and partners.
Assist in developing strategies to increase enrolment and improve the visibility and reputation of the School's programmes.
Provide support to the Head of Section in professional accreditation and recognition of programmes at UoRM.
Participate in staff meetings and committees, as required by the Head of Section.
Other projects as agreed with the Head of Section.
Supervision received
Henley Business School Malaysia staff will receive general guidance from the Head of Section, Henley Business School Malaysia. Mentoring will be provided to advise and assist each appointment to meet the requirements of the post and progression in their career. Work is carried out according to deadlines agreed with the Head of Section, with supervision on a day-to-day basis being minimal.
Supervision given
Supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate research students, research assistants, and academic colleagues as appropriate.
Contact
Frequent liaison with academic colleagues, industry partners, professional bodies, and other stakeholders in support of teaching, research, programme development, and outreach activities.

This post is a full-time role, based in Malaysia with terms and conditions in line with the University of Reading Malaysia policies for Lecturers/Associate Professors.

Effectively engage in the teaching and learning of large and small groups of undergraduate students who are pursuing finance modules from the various Accounting and or non-accounting programmes (A and I)
Ability to adapt integrated teaching materials and delivery style to suit the local context and according to the specific needs of the learners. (A and I)

A Bachelor of Degree with major in Marketing/A Master's Degree in Marketing/PhD in Entrepreneurship

Relevant teaching qualifications (A and I)

At least 3 years of teaching experience supported by evidence of good teaching skills (A and I)
