Job Description

Responsibility:

1. Assist in designing sheet metal parts and assemblies based on specifications and requirements.

2. Develop and modify sheet metal designs using CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Design CAD, Vertex).

3. Creating flat patterns for bending, developing exploded views, and preparing fabrication drawings.

4. Explore new materials, manufacturing processes (e.g. laser cutting, bending, Punching), and design techniques to improve product performance and efficiency.

5. Work with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost effective.

6. Contribute to the development of new sheet metal products, including prototyping, testing, and refinement.

7. Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and fabrication teams to resolve design issues.

8. Identify and address design challenges, such as ensuring structural integrity, optimizing material use, and minimizing manufacturing costs.

9. Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and tolerances.

10. Maintain design files and records according to internal processes.

CONPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

Skills and Experience:

Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. 1-3 years of experience in sheet metal design or mechanical drafting. Proficient in CAD software, knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes, and understanding of material properties. Basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes (cutting, bending, welding, etc.) Ability to analyst designs, identify potential issues, and propose solutions. Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred :

Internship or project experience in mechanical or sheet metal design. Exposure to PDM systems (e.g., SolidWorks PDM). Knowledge of materials used in sheet metal work (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel). Familiarity with manufacturing standards such as ASME or ISO.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
