Manage shift production team, so that the production plan is implemented effectively in achieving continuous improvement in site KPIs i.e output, yield, waste generation, energy etc.
Ensure consistent process and quality, and liaise with the QC/Demand Planner for disposition of any substandard. Investigate any plant/process issues and take prompt and effective correction and corrective actions.
Ensure first line maintenance is carried out effectively to allow continuous and safe running of plant and equipment, and minimize the generation of non-conforming batches and waste (energy, water, chemical etc.), and to promptly inform Production Management of any potential threats to continued production.
Ensure all site SOP, WI, special method statements and operational checklists are adhered to, regularly audited and updated, as and when necessary.
Ensure operation staffs are properly trained and understood site procedures, instructions and requirements for full compliance. Conduct regular compliance audit and take necessary correction including disciplinary action for any non-compliance case.
Ensure Permit to Work system is effectively implemented for any maintenance, project and non-routine activities as per SHEMS and site procedures. Any non-compliance must be promptly reported to Site Management for correction. To be competent person as AESP, AGT and perform the duty as per required.
Ensure all plant modification and process changes are made using correct Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
Ensure staffs remain highly motivated, competent and adequately trained. Carry out regular review on staff achievement vs KPIs, continuous coaching for non-performer, annual training needs analysis and staff appraisal. To keep Production Manager informed of any personal issues that arise.
Communicating all plant updates and information to the team and other relevant departments, and ensuring management are kept informed of all production, quality and SHE related issues.
Lead and ensure effective implementation of 5S and 3R for area of responsibility.
Act as On Scene Commander (or Site Commander in absent of Site Manager or deputy) during any on site and off site emergency as per ERP.
Ensure operating staffs are properly trained on Emergency Respond, spillage and abnormal procedures, and they are aware of credible upset scenarios and how to effectively respond as per procedures.
Enforce site rules and regulations, and company safety procedures and initiative (POSI, PSI, SHE improvement, GSA etc.) to achieve SHE targets.
Shutdown any equipment or part of the plant or the whole plant if the situation or condition is unsafe to process, people and environment.
Carry out any task assigned by superior effectively and timely.
Requirements
Education: Diploma/Degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering
5 year experiences in Chemical Process Industry Functional/Technical
Experience: Process safety & risk prevention Operations reporting protocol application Data & statistical analytics Standard operating procedure development and implementation Emergency response, PTW, and LOTO implementation Leadership and supervision
