BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in 1989, and operates main office in Bandar Utama and a manufacturing plant in Pasir Gudang in Johor, as well as an operational site in Kulim, Kedah. BASF Asia-Pacific Service Centre Sdn Bhd began its operation in 2005. Located in Kuala Lumpur, the regional service hub provides functional services in the areas of finance, controlling, human resources, real estate and facilities management, communications, environment, health & safety, procurement, import-export order management and information services to BASF Group companies in 20 markets across Asia Pacific. BASF Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, established in 1997, provides infrastructure and utilities support services to BASF sites in Malaysia. BASF holds 60% of its joint venture BASF PETRONAS Chemicals Sdn Bhd, which operates a state-of-the-art Verbund production site in the Gebeng Industrial Zone, Pahang, and 50% of Toray BASF PBT Resin Sdn Bhd. BASF posted sales to customers in Malaysia of approximately \xe2\x82\xac344 million in 2023 and had 2,460 employees as of the end of the year. Further information is available on .Objectives of the PositionImplement site strategy in ensuring legal compliance, corporate conformance, and continuous improvement in EHSS performance.On-demand EHSS services related to EHS Management System (EHSMS)Internal reports to PGD Site Management and PM RBU EHS.Performs day-to-day consolidated functional EHSS tasks.Establishes and maintain site EHSS requirements.Main tasksEHS Management SystemMaintains an integrated EHS management system (IMS) and documentation.Initiate and organize site RC Management reviews and Site Safety Committee Meeting.Support to implement EHSS standards. EHSS TrainingDefine site training needs and deliver the requirements.Coordinates/arranges/delivers site EHSS general training. Stakeholder ManagementRepresents BASF to participate in local industry organization.Interfaces with site management, country EHSS & regional EHSS.Interfaces with local industry groups on behalf of BASF sites for issue management and advocacy.Dialogues regularly with site management to evaluate level of service, prioritizes & allocates resources and improves effectiveness and efficiency of the EHSS service.Risk ManagementIntroduce and initiate country EHS TA together with site TA.Work with the country EHSS to deliver competitive, reliable, and high quality EHSS services according to site needs.Benchmarks the EHSS performance in the site (i.e. Initiates measures and proposals to contain the potential issues and continuously improves EHSS standards of the Sites).Responsible person for Security & Information Protection (Non-IT) for site (refer appointment letter for more info).Legal ComplianceLiaises with certification body to consolidate certificates, i.e. ISO, OHSA, etc. into one integrated certificate for site.Liaises with country EHSS / regional for any BASF or Legal update.Gap analysis and implementation for the new EHSS regulations..Management Plans and ProgramsSchedules internal and external EHSS audits, support EHSS audit preparation/pre-auditsCoordinate REHSA reports for site data.Support and consultant role for GID users.Communicates incident flashes in site.Acts as single point of contact with site management.External report to local EHSS authority.People DevelopmentBe the competent EHSS via daily work and learning Safety LeadershipImplement EHSS activities to improve EHSS culture.Plan site inspection for site managementFacilitates experience exchange, lessons learned and know-how transfer among \xe2\x80\x9csite\xe2\x80\x9d.RequirementsEducation: Bachelor degree in EHS, Science, Engineering, Production, Chemical or equivalent. Master degree and PhD will be an advantage.Working Experience: At least 5 years working experience in production, engineering or EHS area. A leadership experience would be an advantage.English Proficiency: Level 3Technical & Professional Knowledge: Excellent communication and management skill, familiar with local legislation system and legal requirements in EHS.
