Job Location:

  • Mile 8, Jalan Datuk Tay, Sandakan, Sabah
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Technical Manager.
  • Acting as Company\'s Owner Representative.
  • Monitor the daily construction advancements of company assets: Offshore Supply Vessels.
  • Proactively conduct daily inspections at own arrangement or on invitation by the construction yard for Company project.
  • Proactively conduct thorough inspections of hull structures on vessel construction projects to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop and implement inspection plans, schedules, and procedures.
  • Witness visual and non-destructive testing (NDT) on hull components to identify defects, anomalies, and potential issues.
  • Evaluate inspection data and prepare detailed reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
  • Review engineering drawings submitted by the construction yards or the design house.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, reports, and relevant project records. Compliance with Company\'s document control process.
  • Participate in harbour and sea acceptance trials to assess the structural integrity and performance of hull systems. This include but not limited to lightship test or inclining test, where applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulations during all inspection activities.
  • Observe and report on safety related issues at site including immediate stop work for unsafe situation.
Requirements/Knowledge/Competencies:
  • Experience: 10-15 years of experience in relevant industry.
  • Education: Technical Diploma or Graduate Degree in a relevant field.
  • Skills: Proficient in MS Office applications; Familiarity with hull design software is a plus.
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in hull inspection and non-destructive testing.
  • Communication: Good communicating skills as it is required to communicate with various parties.
  • ProblemSolving: Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and propose effective solutions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work with various parties including onboard marine operation crews.
  • Adaptability: Flexible working attitude and ability to adapt to changing project requirements and environments.
