:Job OverviewLead the cost management, quantity estimation, and contract administration aspects of the l project, ensuring the effective supervision and compliance of all construction activities with the approved drawings and specifications to guarantee the successful delivery of the mall project within budget and according to the specified quality standards.Responsibilities

  • Estimate the required quantities of materials, labor, and equipment needed for the various construction stages by using a comprehensive and systematic approach such as reviewing the drawings and specifications, breakdown of work items, and labor estimation. Conduct a comprehensive review of the mall project\'s existing documentation, including architectural plans, engineering drawings, contracts, and cost estimates. Conduct cost estimation exercises to accurately determine the budget requirements for the re-tendered mall project, ensuring financial transparency and project viability. Collaborate with the project team to develop comprehensive and detailed quantity take-off aims to get an accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with the project\'s objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective cost control measures to monitor project expenditure, optimize resources, and mitigate cost overruns. Develop and maintain related project expenditures to ensure the construction project stays on track financially including monitoring the expenses, tracking variations, and preparing cost reports to ensure the project remains within budget constraints.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to strategize and select qualified contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors based on their experience, capabilities, and financial stability. Prepare comprehensive tender documents, including clear scopes of work and contract terms, facilitating a competitive and fair re-tendering process. Evaluate received tenders objectively, analyzing technical competence and commercial viability to recommend the most suitable contractors for the project.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations and engage in contract administration throughout the project duration, ensure that all parties involved are aware of their contractual obligations, and resolve any disputes or issues that may arise in a timely and fair manner. Implement robust contract administration and management procedures, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, payment milestones, and timely completion of project milestones.
  • Oversee the construction progress, ensuring that all building activities are conducted in adherence to the approved drawings, specifications, and applicable building codes. Regularly inspect the construction site to identify any deviations from the plans and promptly address them to maintain project quality and integrity.
  • Implement rigorous quality control procedures to minimize construction defects, improve overall project quality, and ensure that the completed building meets the specified standards and requirements. Collaborate with quality inspectors to conduct regular quality checks and inspections, and take necessary corrective actions if deviations are identified. Conduct value engineering exercises to identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality standards and client expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of project documentation, including progress reports, quantity surveys, and cost assessments. while preparing comprehensive project reports that include status updates, key metrics, and recommendations for management review. Provide timely and accurate project reports to stakeholders, effectively communicating project achievements, challenges, and next steps to ensure informed decision-making and facilitate successful project outcomes as well as to keep stakeholders informed and maintain transparent communication.
Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Quantity Surveying/Civil Engineering.
  • At least 10 years (s) of working experience in the related field and at least 5 years (s) of experience in Building Maintenance/Construction Management.
  • Familiar with relevant software tools for cost estimation, project management, and data analysis (e.g., Quantity Surveying Software, cost estimation software, MS Excel, project management software).
  • Demonstrated a history of analytical and critical thinking, with skills in analyzing data related to project costs, progress, and performance, to inform decision-making and strategy adjustments.
  • Proven effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with various stakeholders, prepare reports, and facilitate clear project updates.
