Ensure the worksite and all activities comply with all statutory requirements under the OSHA 1994 and other relevant legislation (e.g., Factories and Machinery Act, Environmental Quality Act).
Conduct regular, thorough site inspections and safety audits to identify and rectify potential hazards, unsafe conditions, and unsafe work practices.
Lead and coordinate the process of Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) for all site activities and ensure effective control measures are implemented and maintained.
Plan, organize, and conduct safety training, orientations, and toolbox meetings for all employees, sub-contractors, and visitors to promote a high level of safety awareness and competency.
Investigate all accidents, near-misses, dangerous occurrences, and occupational diseases. Prepare detailed investigation reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent recurrence.
Prepare, compile, and maintain all necessary safety and health documentation, including inspection reports, training records, statistics, and all required statutory submissions to DOSH
Act as the Secretary to the Site Safety and Health Committee, organizing meetings, documenting minutes, and following up on action items.
Develop, implement, and test emergency response plans (e.g., fire drills, medical emergencies) and ensure the readiness of emergency equipment and personnel.
Monitor the safe use, inspection, and certification of all machinery, equipment, tools, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
