Perform gas testing in confined spaces, excavations, and hazardous work areas in
compliance with DOSH, OSHA 1994, and relevant Malaysian regulations.
Conduct atmospheric testing for oxygen content, flammable gases, toxic gases, and
vapors prior to work commencement and continuously monitor as required.
Certify work areas as safe for entry and issue gas test results in accordance with
company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Support Permit-to-Work (PTW) system by providing accurate and timely gas test
readings to ensure safe work execution.
Ensure calibration, functionality, and proper maintenance of all gas testing equipment.
Liaise with Site Safety Officers, Supervisors, and Permit Issuers to ensure safe working
conditions are maintained.
Record and maintain documentation of gas test results and submit reports to
HSE/Project Management.
Immediately stop unsafe activities and escalate findings if hazardous gas conditions are
detected.
Assist in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and awareness sessions regarding gas testing
and confined space entry.
Comply with company Integrated Management System (IMS) requirements, including
ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and client-specific standards.
Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Safety & Health, or related technical
field.
Valid Authorised Gas Tester (AGT) Certificate recognized by NIOSH/DOSH Malaysia.
Minimum 3 years' experience as AGT in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power plant
construction projects.
Strong knowledge of confined space entry procedures, hot work permits, and PTW
systems.
Familiar with Malaysian safety and environmental regulations (OSHA 1994, FMA 1967,
CIDB, DOE).
Good communication skills with ability to work in multi-discipline and multi-national
teams.
Able to work under pressure in site-based environments and on extended shifts as per
project requirements.Employment Terms
