The Site Safety Supervisor (Yellow Book Holder) is responsible for ensuring all construction activities are carried out safely and in compliance with regulatory requirements and company HSE standards. The role involves supervising on-site operations, conducting safety inspections, and promoting a safety-first culture throughout the construction site.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor daily construction activities
to ensure compliance with safety procedures and relevant legislation.
Implement and enforce safety plans
, risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
Conduct
site safety inspections
, hazard identification, and risk control audits.
Deliver
toolbox talks, site inductions, and safety briefings
for all workers and staffs
Ensure strict compliance with the
Yellow Book requirements
and local regulatory standards.
Investigate and report
accidents, incidents, and near misses
, and recommend corrective actions.
Promote proper
use of PPE
and ensure workers are trained in safe work practices.
Liaise with construction management, main-contractors, and safety officers to
address safety issues
and implement improvements.
Participate in
emergency drills
and ensure that firefighting and first aid equipment is maintained and accessible.
Maintain all
safety records, inspection checklists, and reports
for audit and compliance purposes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid
Yellow Book Holder Certification
(Recognized by CIDB or relevant authority).
Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health, Construction Safety, or a related field.
Minimum
3-5 years' experience
in a similar role in the
construction industry
.
Strong knowledge of
construction safety regulations, procedures, and best practices
.
Familiar with
scaffolding, working at height, crane lifting, excavation, formwork, concrete pouring
, and other construction-specific hazards.
Good communication and leadership skills to engage with workers at all levels.
Additional Skills (Preferred):
First Aid or Emergency Response Team (ERT) certification.
Experience using digital HSE management systems.
Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards.
Working Conditions:
Based on active construction sites (outdoor/indoor environments).
May require
long hours, weekend work, and shift rotations
depending on project stage.
PPE must be worn at all times on site.
