SUMMARY


The site security supervisor provides security services for designated sites. Responsibilities include access control, foot patrols, reporting of all safety and security incidents, training in the use of handheld and walk through metal detectors, and supervising site security officers. The site security supervisor may be required to operate at times without direct supervision and must routinely report site conditions and escalations to the Physical Security Operations Center. The successful candidate will use good customer service skills to perform this job, which includes responding to emergency and routine service calls, assessing risks and threats, taking appropriate action, and completing reports and documentation in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS



1. Enforces access control policy using security devices, stanchions and barricades.
2. Monitors cameras and access control systems covering data halls and entry/exit doors.
3. Manages site temporary badges, processes site access authorization tickets, and maintains logs and records in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures.
4. Performs metal detection searches where required.
5. Utilizes excellent customer service and communications skills in dealing with client employees, vendors, visitors, and contractors.
6. Creates and maintains an atmosphere that is responsive, courteous and respectful; presents a professional image of security.
7. Identifies suspicious or prohibited individuals, materials, vehicles, or other items, and ensures that property removal is conducted in accordance with client standards.
8. Defuses and manages confrontational, aggressive or threatening people or situations through intervention that utilizes effective communication and other skills.
9. Possesses physical stamina and quick responsiveness, able to walk distances or climb multiple flights of stairs.
10. Patrols assigned area checking for unsafe conditions, hazards, unlocked doors, security violations, blocked doors, mechanical problems, and unauthorized persons.
11. Responds to emergency and routine incidents including unauthorized incursions, fire, medical emergencies, bomb threat, suspicious activities and people, flooding, hazardous materials, and facilities issues.
12. Clearly communicates all security issues, incidents, and policy violations to the PSOC using two-way radio, telephone, or email.
13. Collects complete information for detailed report and appropriate follow-up. Prepares well written reports and maintains strict distribution to "need to know" parties.
14. Prepares written and electronic logs and reports as required for the site while entering information in appropriate computer systems.
15. Reads and comprehends printed materials written in English, such as standard operating procedures, post orders, or reports.
16. Protects evidence or scene of an incident in the event of accidents, emergencies, or security investigations through use of barriers and signage. Utilizes knowledge of crime scene preservation to protect evidence.
17. Collects, moves, and may be required to observe destruction of confidential materials. Follows identified actions for safeguarding and handling proprietary and classified information.
18. Identifies security shortfalls and communicates them using the organizational chain of command. Offers suggestions for improving the security program.
19. Maintains documentation and follows standardized procedures.
20. Required to know, follow, and enforce safe work practices, and to be aware of company policies and procedures related to job safety, including safety rules and regulations.

MINIMUM HIRING STANDARDS



Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

Must be at least 25 years of age. Must have a reliable means of communication, such as cell phone. Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private). Must hold or be able to obtain a valid driver's license or equivalent. Must have the legal right to work in the country where the position is located. Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently. Must have a high school diploma, secondary education equivalent, or GED. Must be willing to participate in the Company's pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE



2 years of security experience 2 years managing others 1 year of datacenter experience Experience with Microsoft Office Experience in security operations and procedures Knowledge of supervisory practices and procedures

Required ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Computer usage, which may include prolonged periods of camera and alarm monitoring.
