Perform technical administration and support for large scale enterprise wide middleware solutions, WebSphere MQ and ACE and other middleware software across distributed platforms on day to day operations.
Supporting System Performance Monitoring to ensure middleware systems & all monitored production systems are under the team\xe2\x80\x99s preview and responsibilities to ensure monitored systems operating in optimum level and meeting agreed SLA / OLA.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy and Planning
Review and define new hardware architecture, design, implementation, support of MQ/ACE and other middleware software with its interface systems
Manage projects/initiatives in terms of operational efficiency, cost effectiveness and time savings
EAI Operational
Operate and follow operational standards, policies & procedures when performing day to day tasks.
Deploy and support of middleware components, WebSphere MQ/ACE including application development cycles to implement, configure debug app. problems that relate to MQ/ACE and etc.
Perform Websphere MQ base installation, configuration and tuning e.g. maximum message size buffer pools page sets
Perform regular housekeeping, maintenance and performance tuning
Stop/start MQ/ACE services.
Backup & restore of MQ objects definition
Perform MQ support & Problem Determination
Perform connectivity testing from client applications to MQ, and distributed communication.
MQ version upgrade/patches
Participate in \xe2\x80\x9cOn Call\xe2\x80\x9d and onsite support for off hours and weekend activity.
Participate in Disaster Recovery Exercise
Perform MQ performance monitoring/tuning and optimization /capacity planning.
MQ High Availability/failover test for new integrated system implementation
Create and maintain up-to-date MQ documentation (installation & configuration, security, user and operation guides) and DR documentation for all MQ integrated systems
Implement projects with minimal supervision as well as work with different application and infrastructure teams to support the current integration environments
System Performance Monitoring
Support Performance Monitoring tools and collaboration with other parties to resolve application performance issues and restore acceptable customer experience usage of the application.
Review and generate monthly reporting for System Performance Monitoring.
Drive continual improvement into monitoring /measurement/ alerting practices and tools within the infrastructure team
Train other operations and IT associates on the monitoring tools usability
Requirements
Requirements: Diploma - Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering.
Certifications in Middleware(JBoss/MQ/IIB) Systems Administration & management, Oracle Solaris, IBM AIX, HP- UX, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, CentOS, Virtual Infrastructure, ITIL foundation as well as Systems Management \xe2\x80\x93 Performance & Capacity Management systems and etc.
3-5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in supporting and operating in IT infrastructure environment
Basic technical knowledge of System Architecture, System and Application performance.
Technical experience with at least one of the major middleware solutions, preferably MQ/IIB, JBoss EAP/EWS
Strong Production experience in managing and administrating middleware in a clustered load balanced environment for mission critical systems
Strong knowledge of Solaris, AIX and Linux operating system environments
Technical knowledge of System Architecture, System and Application performance, various IT technology and architecture
Proficiency in performance monitoring and tools e.g. Dynatrace and Nagios.
Able to work independently as well as in collaboration with a team; strong team player.
