Job Description


DescriptionPrimary Objective:

  • Design effective risk monitoring and reporting for Senior Management\xe2\x80\x99s consumption.
  • Monitor and control various types of risk to keeps track of the identified risks, residual risks, and new risks
  • Monitors the execution of planned strategies for the identified risks and evaluates their effectiveness.
  • Engage respective Risk Pillar Heads to develop risk management capability in regional countries.
Regular dialogues with Risk Pillar Heads as well as the regional risk teams to improve communication and information flows across the Group.
Key Responsibilities:The risk surveillance managers within RSM are expected to work in close collaboration with each other, to consistently drive outcome-based results covering the following:
  • Formulate a clear risk surveillance strategy and a sound review methodology to proactively identify undetected risk hot spots within the business units.
  • Conduct periodic monitoring and testing to provide assurance on relevance and effectiveness of new and existing business risk and control measures.
  • Perform effective end to end risk analysis and assessment and conduct systematic follow through of controls implementation.
  • Provide trajectory of emerging risk trending for targeted reviews, mitigation, strengthening of key control measures and to develop risk prevention strategies collaboratively with respective stakeholders.
  • Provide comprehensive management reporting of risk insights, trends, and incidences which includes but not limited to a clear risk heat map for senior management attention and decision-making.
  • Establish SOPs for their respective teams under the new RSM unit.
  • Strong and positive engagement with stakeholders to effectively present and provide ongoing education and sharing of trend/cases to actively drive the uplifting of staff risk awareness culture and conduct. These include identification of good practices for recognition and positive reinforcement.
The Risk Surveillance Manager is expected to have regular active engagement and follow- through working discussions with respective stakeholders, which includes compliance, internal audit and business leaders.As an experience risk management expertise, the individual should be constantly keeping abreast of significant developments in the relevant risk areas, collaborate with the relevant stakeholders to adopt best industry practices for implementation within IBRR to ensure effective, efficient and forward looking risk surveillance and monitoring capabilities are in place.As a new unit, the Risk Surveillance Manager will be expected to develop programs to train and guide their risk counterparts to function effectively and efficiently in their roles within RSM.RequirementsRequirements:
Bachelor Degree - .Preferred level of Experience (by years/function/industry):
  • Minimum 8 years of direct and broad-based practical risk management and/or compliance experiences
  • Individuals with at least 3 years of demonstrated team management experiences.
  • Good knowledge of banking products, services and processes as well as regulations governing the business and products
Added advantage for individuals with:
  • Prior regulatory inspection/supervision and/or audit role will have an added advantage
  • Certification in risk governance and/or risk management
Technical skills:
  • Good and effective use of risk data analytics for surveillance and monitoring
  • Good technical knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements in the relevant risk expertise fields governing the banking products and services.
  • Experience in risk and governance oversight and reporting to management team.
Strong presentation skills and approach with interactive engagement to drive effective learning.Personal Traits:
