Social Media Manager

Job Description

The major accountability of the Social Media Manager is to drive organic traffic and engagement through our social media platforms which include Facebook, Instagram YouTube and TikTok.
Role includes:

  • Analytical: Familiar with social media analytics dashboards such as HootSuite, FB Insights, able to draw insights from the data and turn it into actionable items.
  • Finger-on-the-pulse of our target audience and structured enough to put these insights into a coherent content strategy
  • Developing the content strategy proposals for each of Viu Malaysia's social media platforms and implementation of those proposals including copywriting, artwork direction & requests to our inhouse designers, scheduling, and execution.
  • Master of the content calendar: decides what gets in and what stays out. Liaise with our content team to understand the upcoming monthly shows of Viu Malaysia and plotting the content into the monthly content calendar.
  • Scheduling of social media posts in accordance with agreed timelines on content calendar
  • Be the "voice" of Viu's social media platforms; ensure timely responses within SLA to comments posted by our followers on content, promotions, and campaign related queries. For cases of complaints, escalate these over to customer service for follow up.
  • Closely collaborate with our inhouse designers to bring the social media concepts to life through creatives that clearly and effectively deliver our key messages.
  • Work closely with the Production Houses or PR agency on Viu Original campaigns and coordinate the posts on our casts' social media accounts as well as any social media activations of the cast e.g. Instagram Live, Facebook Watch Party, Instagram Takeovers.
  • Monthly reporting of our social media metrics to ensure our key social media metrics are in on track to achieving our KPIs
  • Familiar with Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok platforms and stays abreast on all the new features of these social media platforms and find new ways to creative deploy these features.
SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Must have minimum 5 years of experience in Marketing with at least 3 years specializing in social media
  • Excellent written Bahasa Malaysia skills (primary) and English (secondary) and able to tell our brand stories in an engaging way (considering the nuances and style of communication of our audience).
  • Having a certain degree of customer service experience is an advantage as this role requires responding to social media comments relating to our shows or directing them to our customer service.
  • Love for Korean dramas and local Malaysian shows are a big advantage for this role
