The division unites software, electrical and electronics engineers from the areas of driver assistance, automated driving, car multimedia, powertrain and body electronics in a new unit. XC-CT/ENG-Pg is the development department for Cross-Domain Computing Solutions (XC) in Penang integrated into the XC development network and serves as a center for global engineering. XC-CT/ENG-Pg is responsible for both state of the art and cost driven platform architecture and development in the areas of
- enabling vehicles to communicate with one another and with their surroundings - reducing complexity in the cockpit by building multiple functions in a single control unit. - enhance safety and convenience with smart infotainment systems.

You will be part of the next megatrend in automotive evolution, working in leading edge technologies and also working with world leading car manufacturers.

• Capture and evaluate customer, internal requirements and vehicle specific interface requirements for high complexity problems. Then identify suitable concept in terms of functional, technological and effort.
• Develop the SW design taking into consideration the dependencies to other module and integration into the overall system.
• Maintain and further develops SW system with continuous improvement proposals. Optimizing systems based on systematic assessments. Also including advice and training of users.
• Coordinate high complex software development tasks and define firmware development roles and responsibilities for the project.
• Responsible for system level debugging. To investigate in system network and point out which component misbehave in system level context and drive the developer in system level problem solving.
• Network Features Owner, to maintain project overall network requirements. Maintenance of Avdecc Entity Model when there is new features / change request / new component to be added/removed in the system.
• Linux expert, to be the key person in determine OS strategy when come into decision of patching / kernel porting / OSS update.
• Integrate new feature in the system especially feature is first time available in the system.
• Key technical reviewer in risk assessment especially system level software issue, to evaluate potential risk and judge the impact to the system.
• Provide direction to internal and external SW developers in features implementation / issue debugging.

• Bachelor in Electronics/Electrical/Computer Engineering/Science
• Proven working experience in embedded software engineering
• Experience in hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets
• Good oral / written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to perform platform selection and software architecture definition.
• Able to recognize and make trade-offs with respect to the whole system
• Understands deeply the entire architecture for a major part of our business and able to clearly articulate the scaling and reliability limits of that area
• Core competency in Linux based and open-source software development & debugging, Yocto based build environment.
• Posse knowledge and experience in network protocol e.g TCP/IP, RTP, AVB.
• Knowledge in network level debugging e.g sniffing network activities via wireshark.
• Knowledge in network services for example webserver hosting is added advantage.
• Technical leadership to steer different SW developers (internal and external) as the role of system level SW architect.
