Job Description

oWe are seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead to manage and execute end-to-end data migration activities for critical system implementations or upgrades. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in data migration strategy, ETL processes, and stakeholder management, ensuring data is accurately and securely transferred across systems.

Develop and own the overall data migration strategy, plan, and schedule aligned with project timelines. Coordinate with business, functional, and technical teams for assessments of source and target systems, identifying data gaps, cleansing needs, and transformation logic. Lead the effort in data mapping between legacy systems and new target systems (field-to-field and system-to-system). Ensure successful data extraction, transformation, and loading across all relevant phases Ensure data quality, integrity, and reconciliation throughout all migration stages. Coordinate with QA teams to define data validation test cases and acceptance criteria. Conduct and lead data validation, dry runs, and mock migrations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage data migration risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where appropriate. Collaborate with testing teams to support system, integration, and user acceptance testing related to migrated data. Document all migration activities including data mapping, transformation logic, and migration logs. Ensure compliance with data security, governance, and regulatory requirements. Lead and manage an internal team and external vendors Develop detailed cutover plans, rollback strategies, and post-migration checklists. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 7+ years of experience in data migration, data integration, or data engineering roles. Expertise in database technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, etc.). Strong knowledge of data modeling, data profiling, and cleansing tools. Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills. Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders. Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
