What you\'ll be doing - The backend software engineer will play a key role in the digital transformation of Plaza Premium Group (PPG) by design and developing world class Java applications that will enable PPG to provide enhanced customer experiences, make data-driven decisions and increase operational excellence. This includes anything between complex groups of back-end services and their client-end (mobile and web) counterparts. Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure. Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality is essential. Job Responsibilities: Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications. Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code. Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications. Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems. Help maintain code quality, organization, and automation. Manage end-to-end platforms / systems integration and DevOps pipelines of PPG with internal and external systems or platforms. Have a deep understanding of the business and craft the integration and DevOps architecture to support the business plan. Lead and review the integration and DevOps strategy, architecture design and technical details Liaise and communicate with various stakeholders including IT, Operations, Business Units, Vendors, etc. Work closely with onshore and offshore development teams on project development and delivery Manage the production support and ensure a smooth production run. Job Requirements: A minimum of 8 years\' hands on experience in software development using Enterprise Java Technology stack. At least one year experience in leading a software development team. Degree qualification in Information Technology related discipline, Masters preferred: 8+ years of related software development experience in java covering but not limited to Integration Layer solution design, architecture & development DevOps Pipeline solution design, architecture & development Agile Development Java(Spring boot), SpringCloud, Redis, MySQL, MQ, MongoDB System Testing (including Load Testing) Understanding of cloud, APIs and DevOps is a Must (preferred stacks below): AWS cloud (with Docker / Kubernaetes and other services experience) AWS API Gateway with RESTful APIs Orchestration DevOps: GitLab, Jira, Jenkins, SonarQube Significant coding skills in Java, with other languages being a major plus. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities. Knowledge of current frameworks, SDKs, APIs, and libraries. Excellent written and verbal communication. Good organizational and time-management skills. A strong portfolio of top-class coding and builds to your name. Ability to work with other developers and assist junior team members. Meticulous at both analysis and execution. Proven extensive client facing experience with successful relationship management. Professional, passionate, innovative, self-motivated and able to present solutions to diverse groups of stakeholders. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity. Proven troubleshooting skills: ability to identify patterns and generate ideas. Experienced in driving technical innovation. Experience with utilization of outsourced and/or globally distributed resources Airline or travel industry knowledge is highly beneficial. Solid software development skills are highly beneficial, especially with micro-services design.
