Position: Software Engineer
Reporting to: Head of IT
Salary Range: RM4,000.00 - RM6,000.00 (Depending on Experience)

Golden Destinations by ICE HOLIDAYS Sdn Bhd is a leading B2B travel wholesaler in Malaysia, specializing in providing customized travel packages to partners across the ASEAN region. We offer an extensive range of travel services, including cruises, to ensure our partners receive high-quality, unique travel experiences. The Software Engineer will work with a team of experienced engineers and get hands-on experience in both frontend and backend development. This is an ideal role if you're familiar with MVC frameworks and want to learn Ruby on Rails in a production environment.
This is a hybrid position, with work split between remote (work-from-home) and on-site at Golden Destinations by ICE HOLIDAYS Sdn Bhd's office in Malaysia.
Requirements:

• 1 - 3 years of hands-on experience in web development.
• Strong foundation in programming, object-oriented design, and databases.
• Familiar with at least one MVC framework (e.g., Laravel, Django, Spring, .NET MVC, etc.).
• Eager to learn Ruby on Rails in a production environment.
• Some experience with frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
• Familiarity with Git and collaborative workflows.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Team player with a continuous learning mindset.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with React or other JS frameworks (Vue, Angular).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
• Exposure to Agile development and CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve features across our full stack applications
• Work collaboratively with team members on coding, reviews, and architecture decisions
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues
• Learn and contribute to systems built using Ruby on Rails and React
