Job description

My client is a global automation equipment manufacturer, based in Penang. They are looking for Software Engineers due to rapid expansion. You will be working on local and international projects alongside the software team.

Job Objectives

• Formulate scalable methods and procedures for software development.
• Create and deliver high-quality software that meets both internal and external customer specifications.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Develop control systems/software for assigned projects, utilizing primarily the C# .NET and SQL programming environment.
• Provide on-site support, service, and equipment installation, involving debugging and testing until final customer acceptance. Expect extended on-site periods, including international travel to installation sites in the US, Europe, and Asia.
• Generate and manage design/test documentation.
• Enhance software application design, development, and end-user experience.
• Analyze existing programs, addressing performance issues, diagnosing and troubleshooting problematic programs, and designing solutions.
• Study and research schematics for build-to-print projects.

Authority / Accountabilities

• Safeguard intellectual property for both the company and clients.
• Comprehend software requirements specifications and deliver high-quality software in accordance with specifications.
• Assist the department in maintaining existing software/firmware applications and contribute to the creation of new functions/features.
• Collaborate as a team player, supporting team members in completing assigned tasks and projects. * Ensure project delivery aligns with project timelines.

Requirements Education/Experience:

• Hold at least a Bachelor\'s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Engineering (Computer/Telecommunication), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), or equivalent.
• Possess 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Have experience or a willingness to learn equipment control system/machine automation programming.
• Experience with SEMI GEM Secs is advantageous.
• Experience in programming PLC, GUI devices, and Motion Controllers is a plus.

Skills/Training:

• Proficient in .NET, Asp Net Programming, C++ Language, MS SQL Server, and C#.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++/C# and familiarity with development platforms such as Visual Studio.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites in the US, Europe, and the Asia Pacific region.

Knowledge:

• Familiarity with SEMI standards E84, E82, E88, and E153.
• Computer literate with a pleasant personality, capable of working independently.
