Software QA Tester (Web/Mobile/SaaS) for apps in the upstream oil & gas

The main funtion will be software QA but you also will be involved in technical support of applications

Mission

Own product quality end-to-end: design smart tests, find meaningful bugs early, and keep releases stable and fast.

Engagement & location

Full-time consultant (contractor).

Remote, based in Asia

or in

any timezone ~6-10 hours ahead of Central Europe (CET/CEST)

to ensure daily overlap.

Comfortable with async collaboration and daily standups aligned to EU hours.

One month of training in Europe to improve teamwork with the development team

Compensation

Competitive, based on skills and experience

(contract day-rate or monthly retainer).

What you'll do

Create & run test plans/cases (functional, regression, exploratory).

Test APIs and data flows (Postman/Insomnia; basic SQL).

Log clear, reproducible defects (Jira/YouTrack) and verify fixes.

Automate critical paths (nice-to-have: Playwright/Cypress) and plug into CI.

Track coverage and quality metrics; champion release readiness.

What you bring

testing web or mobile apps.

test design, edge-case thinking, and crisp bug reporting.

Hands-on with test tools (e.g., Zephyr/TestRail), Git basics, and API testing.

Bonus: performance testing (k6/JMeter), security basics, ISTQB, or data/time series/IoT exposure.

Communication with the team is very important, good command of english language is necessary.

A proactive approach and the ability to self-organise your work activity

Bonus: IT technical background or experience

Bonus: Previous work at oil & gas drilling rigs or knowledge of drilling terminology
