Wood is actively seeking a highly dynamic and client-oriented Solution Consultant to grow our equipment troubleshooting services in the Asia Pacific Region. This role is dedicated to ensuring that our clients' operations are promptly and safely restored in the event of equipment underperformance or failure.
The Role
The role includes collaborating with internal teams to align our services with the desired outcomes of the client and has utilisation and sales expectations.
To be considered you must be a degree qualified engineer and have at least 10 years' experience in packaging, commissioning, maintaining or troubleshooting oil and gas process equipment. Experience in Computational Fluid Dynamics and business development will be highly regarded.
The role will require regular travel within Asia-Pacific, reporting into the Kuala Lumpur Wood office and to the APAC Operations Manager.
This position is offered on a permanent staff basis with ongoing career and professional development.

Typical Responsibilities

• Deliver an exceptional, seamless service experience to clients from initial inquiry through to the conclusion of the engagement, ensuring swift and thorough resolution of equipment issues.
• Spearhead client engagement and facilitate sales of our equipment troubleshooting services.
• Foster client loyalty and drive business growth.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field is recommended.
• 10 years' experience or more in packaging, commissioning, maintaining or troubleshooting oil and gas process equipment.
• 5 years' experience or more in project management.
• A results-oriented, assertive individual who can effectively represent the interests and perspectives of our clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with languages additional to English highly regarded.
• Demonstrated ability to complete technically complex engineering work scopes on schedule and budget.
• Practical and analytical skills to collaborate with technical experts in crafting compelling work scopes.
• A track record of working with both large-scale enterprises and mid-market operators in the energy or mining & minerals sectors is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain professional relationships.
• An empathetic and positive approach, coupled with a genuine interest in understanding and addressing client needs to help them achieve their objectives.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel for persuasive communication.
