Job Description

Duties and responsibilities

  • Solution Design & Architecture: Lead the design of AWS cloud solutions, ensuring they are scalable, secure, and compliant with the financial sector's regulatory requirements (e.g., Bank Negara Malaysia guidelines).
  • Cloud Strategy Development: Develop and implement cloud strategies that align with the organizations business objectives and growth, with a focus on cost optimization and scalability.
  • Migration Planning: Lead migration efforts of on-premise systems to AWS Cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations and data security during transitions.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with business stakeholders, including IT, operations, and compliance teams, to align cloud solutions with business goals and regulatory mandates.
  • Security & Compliance: Ensure all AWS implementations adhere to financial industry standards for data security, privacy, and compliance, including risk management and incident response planning.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest AWS offerings and financial industry trends to suggest innovative solutions that enhance business capabilities.
  • Team Leadership & Mentoring: Mentor and guide junior architects, engineers, and DevOps teams in best practices for AWS cloud development, deployment, and management.
  • Cost Management: Optimize AWS cloud usage and costs, ensuring that cloud expenditures are aligned with the organizations budgetary goals.
  • Incident & Risk Management: Develop and maintain disaster recvery, business continuity, and risk management strategies for cloud-based systems.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
or a related field.
  • Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT architecture roles, with at least 5 years specializing in AWS Cloud systems.
- Proven experience in the financial industry, with strong knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and data security standards in Malaysia. * Certifications:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional level preferred).
- Other relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are a plus. * Technical Skills:
- Expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, and VPC.
- Experience with cloud-native architecture (microservices, containerization using Kubernetes or Docker).
- Strong knowledge of security protocols, encryption standards, IAM roles, and multi-factor authentication.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation), and DevOps best practices.
- Understanding of hybrid cloud solutions and integration with on-premise systems.
- Experience with databases and data warehousing solutions (e.g., Amazon RDS, Redshift).
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog). * Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, capable of making critical decisions in high-pressure environments.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and implementing the latest AWS services and trends in the financial technology space.
Preferred:
  • Experience working with retail stock broking platforms is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks in Malaysia such as Bank Negara Malaysia's Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) and GDPR.
