Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations including (but not limited to):
Abdomen
Pelvis
Breast
Thyroid
Musculoskeletal (MSK)
Obstetric & Gynaecology (if certified)
Vascular studies (if trained)
Ensure proper patient identification, LMP checks, and ultrasound safety screening.
Optimise scanning parameters to produce accurate, clear, and diagnostic-quality images.
Assist in report preparation and ensure images are properly stored in RIS/PACS systems.
Maintain ultrasound equipment, conduct basic troubleshooting, and escalate technical issues when needed.
Ensure examination rooms are prepared, clean, and properly set up.
Patient Care Responsibilities
Explain procedures clearly to patients and ensure comfort, dignity, and safety throughout the session.
Handle anxious, elderly, or first-time patients with empathy and professionalism.
Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and imaging results.
Departmental & Administrative Support
Assist in stock monitoring and ensuring adequate supplies for ultrasound procedures.
Support Imaging Manager with workflow planning and daily scheduling.
Assist with wellness tours, patient briefings, and customer engagement sessions.
Ensure proper documentation, printing, and filing of ultrasound reports.
Participate in monthly reporting, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Comply with MOH and international ultrasound imaging standards.
Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and cleanliness standards at all times.
Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) programmes, audits, and continuous training updates.
Report any malfunction or unusual findings related to equipment or patient safety.
Other Responsibilities
Support Radiologist or visiting specialists when required.
Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Imaging Manager or Senior Management.
Requirements
Qualifications
Diploma/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Imaging / Diagnostic Ultrasound / Sonography or equivalent.
Preferably certified with ASUM / ARDMS / UK SRP / AIUM, or local equivalent (added advantage).
Registered with AHPC (Allied Health Professions Council) or eligible to register.
Technical Competencies
Strong competency in general ultrasound: Abdomen, pelvis, breast, thyroid.
Additional certifications in OB-GYN, MSK, or Vascular ultrasound are highly advantageous.
Proficiency with digital RIS/PACS systems.
Skilled in maintaining scanning protocols and image optimisation techniques.
Familiar with clinical ultrasound safety standards and ALARA principles.
Experience
Minimum 1-2 years' experience in ultrasound imaging (private hospital/medical centre preferred).
Fresh graduates with strong clinical training and certification may also be considered.
Senior roles available for candidates with >4 years' experience and multi-specialty scanning skills.
