Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in speech therapy, specifically with pediatric populations.
  • Proficiency in conducting comprehensive Speech and Language Assessments to identify communication disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized Therapeutic Intervention plans based on patient needs and goals.
  • Strong knowledge of various Communication Disorders and effective treatment strategies.
  • Experience in providing Pediatric Speech Therapy services, including articulation therapy, language therapy, and social skills training.
  • Excellent Patient Care skills, including the ability to build rapport with children and their families.
  • Fluency in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Mandarin is essential for effective communication with diverse patient population.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Must be willing to work onsite at the Firststep Child Specialist Clinic in Kuala Lumpur.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify communication disorders and developmental delays in children.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, targeting specific speech, language, and communication goals.
  • Provide direct therapeutic intervention to children with a variety of communication disorders, including articulation disorders, language delays, fluency disorders, and social communication difficulties.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care for each child.
  • Educate parents and caregivers on strategies to support their child's communication development at home and in the community.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities to stay current with best practices and emerging trends in speech-language pathology.
