Purpose Statement This role provides financial support to the APAC HQ or local country FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) in order to achieve the overall goals and objectives of Boston Scientific through the effective planning analysis and reporting activities including variance, comparative and trend analysis for divisional sales, gross margins and operating expense. Participate in the development of report, preparation, analysis and publishing the report in financial area. This role will focus on either of two workstreams; Reporting and Analysis or Planning and Forecast and support the other workstream when needed. Some of the tasks of these two workstreams might be combined. Key Responsibilities
Provides key financial support to Country and APAC HQ FP&A (\xe2\x80\x9cFP&As\xe2\x80\x9d) as below: Reporting & Analysis :
  • Works directly with FP&As in the preparation of the monthly closing process on sales and opex and provides relevant analysis of variance to plan and last year.
  • Provides monthly financial reports on sales, cogs, inventory, opex to FP&As and business and identifies significant drivers of performance.
  • Defines in collaboration with FP&As new financial reports to track performance and roll out training to FP&As and business stakeholders.
  • Assists the FP&As in the analysis of performance trends or any adhoc analysis on sales and opex and investigates significant variance to plan.
  • Supports FP&As in the annual financial plan and forecasts by preparing relevant templates and managing all financial data into the financial systems.
  • Provides on-going user assistance and training on financial systems.
  • Key participant in any FP&A processes, including the preparation of quarterly business review.
  • Provide sales & financial reporting, value-added analysis, and continuous improvement of country business processes.
  • Management of Daily Reporting Functions (i.e. Daily Sales and Divisional Product Reports).
  • Identify the improvement opportunities, propose solutions and implement by aligning with stakeholders, challenging status quo for operational excellence
Planning and Forecasting:
  • Provides key financial support to all APAC Countries on the regular planning cycles (F1/F2/F3/AOP/SP)
  • Works directly with FP&As in the preparation and execution of the regular planning cycles
  • Prepares and executes data input (upload) of monthly sales and opex plans / annual budgets into the financial systems in collaboration with FP&As, and ensures the data uploaded is correct per the service level agreement (\xe2\x80\x9cSLA\xe2\x80\x9d)
  • Provides the system results through a defined template, both in Excel and Powerpoint, and communicate to FP&As
  • Provides on-going user assistance and support for application software, mainly Hyperion/Essbase and its associated systems
  • Conduct basic software training when needed
  • Ensures awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating procedures to meet, comply and champion all quality and regulatory commitments of Boston Scientific
  • Provides input to the Quality committee in finance specific local issues around the FP&A transactional processes. Drives compliance in all finance related matters (CA&C, SOX, Statutory, Monthly Closing) in relation to the processes the person is involved. Participates in implementing Quality requirements in the related areas of the Finance Process.
  • Identify the improvement opportunities, propose solutions and implement by aligning with stakeholders, challenging status quo for operational excellence
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A
  • Degree in Business Administration or similar
  • Accounting experience is a plus
  • Proven experience of accounting & financial system (SAP, Hyperion, Concur, etc.)
  • Advanced collaboration and team working skills
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Proven track record of identifying improvement opportunities and implementation of the solutions, challenging status quo for operational excellence
  • Proven skills of stakeholder management
  • Proven ability to work with a \xe2\x80\x98sense of urgency\xe2\x80\x99 to meet critical deadlines
  • Proven ability of prioritization and time management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and multi-task with flexible and agile mindset
  • Ability to work across different cultures
  • Fluency in English both verbal and written. Additional language in APAC country is desirable
