HierarchyPOSITION : Staff Engineer, ElectricalREPORTING TO : Head of Maintenance Engineering and ReliabilityDIVISION/DEPARTMENT : PLS / PBF / PBF/MLOCATION : KL Office1. KEY OBJECTIVES

  • Ensure supervision of technical engineering support of safe, efficient Production Operations in the SK309 & SK 311 Blocks.
  • Ensure that Production requirements and safe Production operating practices and procedures, comply with the PTTEP Management System while meeting all environmental and legislative requirements.
2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Ensure that Modification Change Request (MCR), system, that logs, documents and engineers any change to any offshore facility under the specific SMS procedures.
  • Co-ordinates an engineering team to provide:
  • Full technical services to the Head of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability and offshore team to ensure continued hydrocarbon production in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Brownfield technical services to the Head of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability and offshore team.
  • Commissioning and startup teams to Production Department on MCR work.
  • Specialist optimization team to analyze and resolve operational production issues.
  • Liaise with offshore and onshore management, support groups and Project, ensuring good communication levels are maintained and provide Operations input into all phases of the West Patricia and other future Projects.
2.1 PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Conversant with all relevant safety codes and operating procedures ensuring that these are followed and improved to ensure that the safety of all operations is maintained.
  • In conjunction with onshore support groups assist in planning and coordinating all major activities including:
  • Startup and commissioning.
  • Planned shutdowns.
  • Programmed maintenance.
  • Evaluate simultaneous operations and their impact on the integrity of the field facilities ensuring procedures are in place to action and respond effectively to any situation.
3. KEY AUTHORITIES
  • As Staff Electrical Engineer, free to act within the authorities granted by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Budgetary freedom is within limits specified by the Maintenance Manager.
  • Engineering support to optimize production, maintain targets and fulfill companies\' hydrocarbon export expectations.
4. SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIESThe primary responsibilities of the Head of Maintenance Engineering and Reliability are:
  • Shared responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all persons at the Operations Site, including staff, contractors and visitors and for local environmental safety.
  • Manage the activities and operational work program as supervised by the appropriate Supervisors. Ensuring that the operations and activities are performed in accordance with the applicable Management System, PTTEP Policies, Procedures, work instructions and regulatory requirements.
  • Motivate, consult with and ensure the participation of the Maintenance team and visiting contractors, in the ongoing development and implementation of safety at the workplace.
  • Ensure that all contractors and vendors who perform standard and specialist work in the field are made aware of their responsibilities for managing health, safety and emergency response.
  • Ensure regular inspections and all maintenance requirements are performed on Process equipment and Emergency Shut-down Systems.
5. WORKING RELATIONSHIP
  • Maintenance Manager, Production Manager, Offshore Production Team and Onshore Production Team.
  • Sarawak, Sabah and Peninsular Project Team personnel.
  • On board short-term contract and technical staff and all visitors.
  • Good relations must be maintained with personnel on all facilities and KL office.
6. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A minimum of 15 years experience in hydrocarbon production industry environment in a supervisory capacity.
  • A minimum of 10 years experience associated with hydrocarbon production and offshore production floating facilities in a supervisory capacity.
  • Previous employment history in engineering & maintenance.
  • Strong personal and interpersonal skills with flexibility to meet the fluctuating needs of operations support.
  • Strong communication skills for working with, understanding and motivating Malaysian national personnel.
  • Strong team building skills.
6.1 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • A sound knowledge of the business drivers affecting PTTEP.
  • Specific knowledge of oil production, rotating equipment, water injection and gas lift plant.
  • Sound knowledge of Project, Construction and Commissioning activities, with previous experience in one or more Malaysian construction sites.
  • Sound knowledge of training, CBTA and technology transfer issues in Malaysian environment.
  • Valid BOSET / HUET training.
  • Control of Major Emergencies training
