Responsible for gear box development of low to mid complexity (new features, improvement to existing, etc) which incl. gear box related technical scouting, project planning, new development to implementation. Supporting to Gear Specialist in data or information acquisition with regards to existing gears technology, such as patents, benchmarking, open source, etc. Support product development team in failure analysis and enhancement on existing gearbox to enablement of gearbox ability to meet requirements of system level. Proactively built competency with available training, hands on and collaboration with Sr. Engineer and Gears Specialist.

Your job scope including:

• Responsible and drive in all aspect of gearbox development in accordance with V-Model & BES-PE approach.
• Collaborating with stakeholders in understand of requirements with user case. Support this understanding with data, such as benchmarking, online research, patents, user visit and interviews, etc.
• Use quick prototyping approach in various design stage to acquire and to verify requirements of user case.
• Collect and include existing design weaknesses into requirement of responsible project.
• Collaborating and drive stakeholders to development implementation of set target.
• Support Gear Specialist in information to enablement of technology scouting and acquisition which include subject such as raw material, manufacturing process, and gear box structure design.
• Support and add to patents database on new related technologies, proactively share this information to others.
• Ensure intellectual property protection by timely filing of invention reports before involvement of third parties.
• Support and update technical standard, design guidelines and processes methodology of good practices to knowledgebase and share information to other.
• Support Gearbox Specialist in BE gearbox standardization portfolio activities.
• Cost analysis of gearbox in responsible project to provide proposal of best approach in enablement of gearbox to system level. Request buy in from stake holders in the proposal to proceed with execution.
• Constantly review during development to identify lessons learned. Document and shared the lessons to the others.
• All development content and documentation in accordance BES-PE guidelines.
• Apply all processes according to valid PT and Bosch procedures published in BGN.

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in design of gears or gear boxes for consumer. Related areas are automotive and industrial applications.
• Exposure to the manufacturing process of gear box components, especially gear manufacturing and heat treatment.
• Transfer of technical requirements into a design solution by applying a systematic approach
• Understanding cause-effect relationships of technical details
• Application of GIS, ANDI system, >1 year user or training done
• Pro-E(Creo) CAD system experience
• Advanced user of relevant gear box design software tools, e.g. KISSsoft
• Proficiency in PC applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• Highly independent working and experience working in international project teams using English.
• Presentation of technical proposals on management level
• experienced working with people from different cultures and organizational functions
• Able & courage to challenge direction & procedure.
• Make decision based on team, active team player with good communication skills.
• Self-initiated physically to support other on knowledge of expertise.
