The staff nurse provides specialized care to patients with kidney-related conditions, particularly those undergoing dialysis treatments. They monitor patients during procedures, manage dialysis equipment, and educate patients on managing their condition. They also administer medications, assess patients, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.

Key responsibilities & duties

Patient Monitoring and Assessment:

Dialysis nurses monitor patients' vital signs, assess their overall condition, and observe their response to dialysis treatment.

Medication Administration:

They administer medications, including those related to dialysis treatment, as prescribed by doctor.

Dialysis Machine Management:

They prepare, operate, and maintain dialysis machines and equipment, ensuring proper function and safety during treatment.

Patient Education:

They educate patients and their families about kidney disease, dialysis procedures, medications, and self-management strategies.

Documentation and Reporting:

They maintain accurate patient records, document vital signs, treatment details, and any changes in patient condition, and report to the Doctor.

Safety and Infection Control:

They adhere to strict safety and infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.

Additional Responsibilities:Preparing patients for dialysis, including setting up and priming dialyzers and bloodlines.

Assisting with vascular access procedures, such as needle insertion for haemodialysis. Troubleshooting equipment and addressing any issues that arise during treatment. Following up with patients after dialysis to ensure they are stable and have no complications. Scheduling dialysis treatments to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements

Min Diploma / Degree in Nursing

Those with Post Basic in dialysis are added advantage

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM4,200.00 per month
