1. To provide health care to children (above 1 month old) and adolescents. Play an important role in supporting adolescent patients and their families by explaining treatment options, patient's conditions, and providing emotional support.
2. To have in depth knowledge on growth and development, needs and problems of normal children under various stages of development.
3. To have hands on skill on the assessment of infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and adolescent.
4. To have knowledge and understanding of various medical and surgical disease conditions common in paediatric groups.
5. To provide basic nursing care to paediatric patients based on their individual needs.
6. To assist the physician in assessment, reassessment, and performance of various procedures pertaining to paediatric care.
7. To monitor and record the vitals.
8. To have expertise in formula preparation and diet planning and education for malnourished children.
9. To be skillful in taking care of children undergoing various surgical interventions.
10. To meet the psycho-social needs and demands of children.
11. To have knowledge on the importance of play therapy, the types of play for various age groups and to inculcate and implement the same in the clinical area.
12. To have knowledge and skill on the use of various devices and equipment's: oxygen tents, infusion and syringe pumps, defibrillators, etc.
13. To possess the skill to take care of children with tracheostomy, ICDs, feeding tubes.
14. To provide emotional support to the parents and family and provide counseling as and when required.
15. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager of the unit
