Job Description


As a Staff/Principal Manufacturing Engineer within a global Supply Base Management team, it involves proactive and reactive problem-solving in collaboration with contract manufacturers and suppliers, ensuring robust containment and CAPA processes to uphold product quality and customer commitments. Conducting rigorous part qualifications, audits and statistical analyses ensures adherence to specifications and improvement initiatives with suppliers.

  • Collaborate with contract manufacturing partners to analyse and integrate supplier quality issues.
  • Lead containment and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) to ensure uninterrupted customer shipments while upholding product quality.
  • Draft hold notices and deviations, review supplier 8D reports, and escalate issues to engineering as necessary.
  • Conduct qualification processes for mechanical and electromechanical components to ensure adherence to specifications throughout product lifecycle.
  • Perform supplier process audits and review first article reports to validate process capability.
  • Utilise statistical software for process capability validation and evaluate finish and cosmetic standards.
  • Drive initiatives with suppliers to enhance performance over time.
  • Conduct audits at supplier system and process levels, providing feedback to the company and supplier management.
  • Regularly visit suppliers to oversee proactive improvement projects and assess effectiveness of corrective actions.

  • Bachelor\'s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Proficiency in English is essential (both written and verbal); proficiency in Chinese is highly advantageous.
  • Extensive experience and deep knowledge in fabrication processes are essential, including machining, sheet-metal work, tooling, and assembly.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical drawings, including tolerances and GD&T.
  • Minimum of 5 years\' experience in design, manufacturing, operations, or supplier management roles.
  • Solid grasp of quality concepts and principles.
  • Proficiency in quality tools such as Control Plan, FMEA, MSA, and 8D, with practical application experience.
  • Familiarity with both mechanical and electromechanical components (e.g., cable assemblies, power supplies, pneumatic systems, molding/casting) is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in supplier audit and development is a significant plus.
  • Background in supplier and part qualification processes is beneficial.
  • Preferred experience in high-mix, low-volume industries.
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and a focus on achieving results.
  • Capable of working autonomously with little supervision.
  • Willingness to travel as required to supplier locations or other company facilities.
  • Displays proactive problem-solving skills.
  • Exhibits a positive and cooperative work ethic.
  • Strong leadership abilities are highly advantageous, with effective communication skills both internally and externally.
