Job Description

• Ensure safe and efficient daily operation of steam boilers, maintaining optimal pressure and temperature for plant requirements.
• Review and revise boiler safety risk assessment and environmental aspect and impact (EIA) when needed.
• Communicate with DOSH by providing notification for repairing or alteration, and perform by competent person.
• Maintaining validity of steam engineer and boilerman competency according to DOSH requirement
• Managing boiler operation with a minimum competency headcount as per recommended by DOSH.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on boilers, pressure vessels, steam traps, and auxiliary systems to minimize downtime.
• Ensure operations comply with all local regulatory requirements (e.g., DOSH), including coordinating inspections, audits, and renewals of boiler certifications.
• Enforce and follow strict safety procedures to prevent accidents, including managing safety valves, interlocks, and boiler alarms.
• Maintain accurate logs of operational data, maintenance activities, and inspection reports in line with statutory and company requirements.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, breakdowns, or any irregularities in the steam system to avoid production interruptions.
• Support implementation of energy conservation measures related to boiler and steam system operations.
• Provide guidance or supervision to boilerman/Facilities Technicians and coordinate with other maintenance or production teams as needed.
• Start, monitor, and shut down boilers and related equipment according to operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Inspect boiler pressure, temperature, water level, and fuel consumption; log data accurately and report any abnormalities.
• Liaise with the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) to ensure all steam equipment is compliant with statutory requirements, including inspection and certification.
• Monitor boiler water quality and ensure proper chemical dosing to prevent scaling, corrosion, and system inefficiency.
• Monitor and request spare parts, tools, and consumables for boiler and steam system maintenance to prevent shortages
• Provide technical input during installation or upgrading of steam boilers, piping, or automation systems.
• Act as part of the emergency response team (ERT) in case of fire, steam leaks, or other utility-related incidents.
• Provide daily/weekly updates to the Engineering Manager and raise flags on any operational risks or issues.

To support on other facilities equipment's such as chillers, Air compressors, PWTP and Cooling Towers
? What We're Looking For:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
• Certificate of Competency as a Grade 1 or 2 Steam Boiler Engineer issued by DOSH
• Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience operating and maintaining industrial steam boilers.
• Experience in managing boiler auxiliary systems such as feedwater pumps, economizers, steam traps, condensate return systems.
• Familiarity with DOSH regulations, boiler inspections, and statutory compliance processes.

Exposure to automated boiler systems and energy efficiency practices is an added advantage
