Job Summary
The responsibilities and duties of the Strategic Network Partnership Lead are to lead and manage strategic network partnership programs identified as part of the overall Network Strategy, focusing but not limited to Industry Sharing, Network Differentiation through Analytics, Digitalization and Cloud collaboration. The role requires continuous engagement with Technology Vendors and Partners, Industry Peers, Regulatory, Standards bodies and Associations to execute partnership trial, demonstrate innovative business use cases and aligning of internal stakeholders across technology domains and divisions for the identified programs or initiatives. This person for this role shall be up to date with technology, industry and market developments and possesses comprehensive understanding and strong fundamentals on converged Mobile and Fixed Network.
Job Responsibilities
Continuous Engagement with Industry Peers, Technology Partners and Vendors, Industry Standards Bodies and Association to push through collaboration program or initiatives in accordance to established Network Strategy by facilitating Trials, Proof-of-Concepts, Use-Case Demonstration.
To always sustain continuous engagement with at least 1 partner each over the following domains:
Traditional Network Partners on RAN, Core, Transport, IP
Digital Enabler, Cloud and Hyperscaler
Analytics, Automation and Big Data
Industry Peers for Sharing (MNOs, OLOs)
Associations, Standards Bodies (GSMA, 3GPP, TIP, OpenNFV and other open standard bodies)
Partnership with global and regional industry peers (Vodafone, peering companies)
Alignment of external Partnership and Collaboration programs within Internal stakeholders for program approvals by engaging cross functional teams of Network Engineering and Operations, Business Planning, Sales & Services, Legal and Governance team.
Build and develop business case of the partnership programsData sourcing and establishing baseline to support business caseAssess and evaluate programs from techno-commercial perspectivePropose programs in required Technology and Investment Forum or Committee if applicableBenchmarking on partnership program effectiveness and measurements of result

Participate and establish plan against overall Network Strategy Target and milestones, track against engagement plans and perform justified adjustments through the following:
Cost/benefit modelling of technology and network scenarios, drawing on specific technology input from Technology Development and various Network Engineering and Operations team teams.
Data sourcing, engineering and analysis to investigate network performance, optimise Planning Rules, and support estimation of costs, revenues and consequences of technology, sharing and other network options.
Use-case identification and development, for demonstration purposes and to support business units through co-creation of new opportunities driven by network capabilities.
Strategic contract negotiation, primarily with industry partners and traditional vendors
Project and program management for the activities across the CTSO team, including the activities of an Innovation Lab.
Benchmarking programs against industry competitors to maintain leadership in industry and technology partnerships
This role closely with the more technology-centric Technology Development team, mutually supporting for the identification of new opportunities, development of data-driven planning rules and similar activities.
Ensuring Compliance to Established Network Strategy, Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long Range Plan (LRP) :
Identify and call attention to areas not otherwise being given sufficient consideration in the formulation of technology, network and industry partnership strategy
Compliance check against Networks Long Range Plan (technology roadmap and associated 5 year budget estimates), and Networks Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
Ensuring Successful Execution of Strategic Initiatives
Oversee the execution of selected strategic initiatives and personally sponsor selected such initiatives. Note that this will not usually include network build or operation, which will be undertaken by the CNO team.
Lead and maintain relationships with industry partners relating to the evolution of the telecommunications industry, adjacent industries and client industries
Requirements
At least 10 years with
substantial experience in Network Technology roles; and
experience in leading vendor; and
Innovative Technology Program Management Experience
Should demonstrate collaboration experience in a matrix and cross functional organization
A majority of :
Business development and new product development
Telecommunications technology (strategic, development and optionally also operations)
Mobile and Fixed Network, O/BSS architectural knowledge
Program lead, execution and management experience
Telecommunications spectrum strategy and planning knowledge
Financial modelling of investment and change programs; enterprise value / economic value modelling
Regulatory, Standards bodies engagement experience
Intra-company networking and building consensus on change programs
Good communication skills in English both written and oral.
Personal traits: Positive, Passionate, Collaborative. A self-starter, able and motivated to both perform and lead under pressure in a challenging environment.
