Job Description


Job Title: Subcontract Engineer (Oil & Gas)

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Contracts Manager/Project Manager.
  • Evaluate bids, participate in the tendering process, and prepare bid evaluation reports with contracts award recommendations.
  • Draft tender documents and provide inputs in the drafting of contract documents.
  • Organize the signing of contracts for construction works.
  • Manage and evaluate claims by subcontractors and services.
  • Monitor the overall financial and physical progress of awarded contracts.
  • Review requests for variation orders, negotiate with claimants, and manage variation or changed order claims with clients.
  • Prepare and submit periodic reports on contract progress, including recommendations for delivery performance improvement.
  • Establish and maintain a database on monthly payments from clients and payments to subcontractors to ensure proper cash flow projections.
  • Assist the Quantity Engineer in the preparation of preliminary and estimated Bills of Quantities.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the contract for site work.
  • Prepare letters to clients on issues, claims, or extension of time for the project.
  • Prepare contract status reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Perform any other tasks assigned by the reporting supervisor.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in contracts administration, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration principles, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, contract law, and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using software and tools for contracts management.
  • Ability to analyze complex contract terms and conditions and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships with stakeholders.
  • Sound financial acumen and ability to monitor contract progress and manage cash flow projections.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ethical conduct and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to changing project requirements.
  • Ability to handle pressure and resolve conflicts professionally.
