Job Description

The Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as a pivotal technical resource in BD, providing specialized expertise to support pre-sales activities and drive the identification of new products. This role isessential in developing and delivering optimal, innovative solutions for clients, while strategically expanding our offering, job scope or product portfolio to align with innovation and evolving market demands while enhancing brand value.

Job Requirements;



Bachelor's degree in engineering (Instrumentation, Electrical, Mechanical, or related) At least 2 years relevant experience in a technical pre-sale, product development, or process automation role. Profound understanding of process automation systems, OT cybersecurity especially in Distributed Control Systems (DCS) technologies eg. in Foxboro DCS and Modicon-based PLC solutions; Comprehensive familiarity with pre-sales processes, technical proposal formulation, and client engagement methodologies; Understanding of product development frameworks based on APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) phases; Working knowledge of relevant industry standards and certifications; Proficiency in MS Office Suite.

1. Solution Development

: Provide technical expertise, create, and present effective solutions for complex client needs during pre-sales, ensuring alignment with requirements and identifying opportunities for enhancement or optimization, while ensuring accuracy and value.

2. Proposal Review & Support

: Review technical proposals to match client needs and company abilities and actively assist sales teams with clients as a main technical advisor.

3. Product Leadership & Research

: Lead in-depth research of market trends, competitors, customer needs and so on as per APQP process to identify new product opportunities and 1. enhance the product range. Apply APQP principles to guide product planning and development, lead and ensure the product identification plan aligns with established timelines, quality standards, and all necessary prerequisites prior to release.

4. Collaboration, Performance & Cost Review

: Work closely with internal teams (e.g., Sales, Engineering) and external partners (suppliers, principals) to gather information and latest technologies, ensuring optimal product solutions and knowledge transfer, while also analyzing existing products to find areas for performance and cost improvements, then proposing changes.

5. Reporting & Updates

: Prepare detailed reports and give regular updates to management on pre-sales technical work, new product efforts, and market insights.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
