44 hours per work week




7.30 am to 12.15 pm (Monday - Friday) 1.30 pm to 5.45 pm (Monday - Friday) 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm (Friday) 8.30 am to 2.30 pm (Saturday)

It will be at the discretion of your Centre/Department in charge or his/her assigned representatives to determine whether you will be required to work any of the unutilized hours according to the operational needs of the Centre and within the legitimacy of the employment laws where applicable.


MAIN PURPOSE / OBJECTIVES

The Supervisor is expected to serve as a good role model to safeguard and promote the welfare, development and safety of our clients at all times. She should be very observant, attentive to the needs of the clients, and adopting a holistic care approach by looking into the physical, education, social, emotional and spiritual needs of the clients at all times.



The Supervisor is to ensure that she performs her job in compliance with The Salvation Army policies and procedures including the Territorial Child Protection Policy and all relevant government rules and regulations including those governing the Malaysia Care Centre Act and Education Act.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise the assessment, planning and implementation of the lesson plans to help each student to achieve learning objectives and curriculum goals.

Ensure suitable timetables and weekly lesson plans are well planned by teachers.

Ensure preparation for all teaching materials, equipment and resources required for daily lessons are done by teachers.

Supervise and provide necessary advice to teachers to enable them to select and creatively use instructional methods and materials appropriate to students and learning activities.

Be responsible for the needs and safety of students at all times (e.g. during meals, bath time, rest time, recess, excursions, etc.).

Supervise and maintain a stimulating, clean and appropriate environment within the centre to encourage positive learning behaviour among students.

Supervise teachers in completing assigned class registers and lesson reviews daily.

Supervise teachers to maintain regular records for children's individual files and ensure completion of a yearly progress report for each child in the class.

Plan and supervise field trips, excursions, outings and performances, even when outside of normal working hours.

Initiate and supervise indoor and outdoor play and group activities.

Maintain tidiness and take responsibility within the Centre at all times.

Maintain good attendance, time management, dress code and self-discipline at all times.

Establish regular contact with parents with the knowledge of management.

Provide regular feedback to management concerning Centre operations and service delivery.

Attend and identify suitable training courses to maintain the quality of programmes and services provided by the Centre.

Maintain professional conduct when dealing with students, parents, visitors, donors, sponsors and colleagues.

Provide constructive feedback to parents and management when necessary regarding students' development.

Initiate new ideas or programmes that benefit the development of students in the Centre and community.

Assist and participate in fundraising programmes in the Centre.

Attend to all other reasonable requests or assistance from the Team Leader.


After School Care


Provide leadership and daily supervision of the after-school care program to ensure a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for children Supervise, support, and mentor staff; manage staff rosters, breaks, and performance as required Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of all children in line with policies, procedures, and duty of care requirements Plan, oversee, and evaluate age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and physical development Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, school policies, and child protection standards Maintain accurate records including attendance, incident reports, and communication logs Build positive relationships with children, families, school staff,and external stakeholders Manage behaviour in a positive, respectful, and consistent manner Oversee daily operations including set-up, pack-down, resources, and risk management Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and parent enquiries.








QUALIFICATIONS

JOB REQUIREMENTS





1. Diploma or equivalent qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field, with sound knowledge of lesson planning, child development, and classroom management.



2. Prior experience supervising teachers or childcare staff, with strong understanding of child safety, welfare, and compliance with organisational policies and relevant care and education regulations.



3. Ability to communicate effectively with teachers, parents, management, and external stakeholders, while maintaining professionalism, discipline, and a positive role-model attitude at all times.
