Job Summary
Wolfspeed Semiconductor Quality division is seeking a proven, hands-on Outgoing Quality Engineer based in Malaysia. This position reports to Wolfspeed Supplier Quality Engineering Manager for Global Operations. The Outgoing Quality Engineer will play a key role to implement, maintain and continually improve the Outgoing Quality process and practices across our Global Operations business unit to ensure suppliers meet Wolfspeed requirements. The successful candidate will ensure continued compliance against our product specifications and quality objectives, while tracking continuous manufacturing improvements on sustaining products. They will interface with other functions such as operations, sales and engineering teams. The ideal candidate has direct experience with contract manufacturing, product reliability, quality and manufacturing process inspections.
Duties and Responsibilities
Perform outgoing sampling inspections of wafers from each packing list inside production floor after supplier QA process prior packing and shipments.
Work closely with supplier and Wolfspeed cross functional team to address on real time inspections defect escapees inside production floor including root-cause analysis and CAPA.
Work closely with supplier and Wolfspeed cross functional team to establish inspections documents including generate new documents and update existing documents.
Establish Outgoing COC (Certificate of Conformance) summary report for all shipments from suppliers.
Publish Outgoing gate KPI trend chart including failures, rootcause and CAPA done and in progress every week.
Improve supplier outgoing inspection by performing weekly surveillance audits and random audits to reduce occurrences and risks of supplier escapees.
Manage Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process to ensure timely and effective root cause analysis and corrective actions related to inspections.
Promote the use of customer preferred techniques for continuous improvement such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, Measurement System Analysis, FMEA, Maverick Programs, SPC, and other outlier strategies related to inspections.
Manage the supplier change notification process that advises the BU on supplier/Wolfspeed -initiated changes. Work with the Engineering/Operations Teams to review approve and qualify proposed changes related to inspections.
Participate in MRB and PCRB reviews with critical internal stakeholders, drive change managements, root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions related to inspections.
What You Need For Success
Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
Experience on inspections process inside clean room environment for semiconductor devices
Modern data analysis skills such as JMP and Excel.
Organization skills, the ability to multi-task and set priorities to meet goals in a fast-paced environment.
Balanced professional capable of seeing the big picture while managing the details and is motivated by results.
Demonstrated experience with hands on semiconductor packaging problem solving, driving. problems to root cause with effectively implemented CAPA.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve process engineering issues.
Advanced knowledge of SPC and ship to control methods in a production environment.
High energy, self-motivated attitude with strong communication skills and an ability to interface effectively with different backgrounds and at every level of the organization.
Strong attention to detail while effectively managing time.

Preferred Skills and Certifications
Based in Ipoh Malaysia
Certified Lead QMS Auditor for Automotive Industry IATF 16949:2016.
Certified VDA 6.3 Auditor.
Lean/Six Sigma certification or equivalent work experience or company certification.
5 years demonstrated experience with 24 hr global engineering contract manufacturing management.
5 years demonstrated experience with automotive customers.
Experience working with fabless companies as a SQE management role with contract manufacturing suppliers.
Knowledge of semiconductor packages and materials.
Demonstrate abilities to lead in problem solving/countermeasure events where quality issues are diagnosed, discussed, and resolved.
Lead and drive the organization using widely accepted quality techniques such as the 8D problem solving, 5 Whys, Kaizen events, SPC, Maverick, DPAT, SPAT.
Certifications in APQP, PPAP, FMEA.
Travel up to 50% of the time throughout Asia.
International travel (North America/Europe) 1-2 trips per year.
