Our employees tell us that the number one reason they enjoy working for Cochlear is the opportunity to make a difference to people\xe2\x80\x99s lives.This is a fantastic opportunity for a Supplier Quality Engineer (KL) to drive the overall improvement of supplier performance and ensure the delivery of quality product or service from Cochlear\xe2\x80\x99s external supply partners. This role will be responsible for liaising with external suppliers and internal stakeholders to manage changes in the supply base and resolve quality issues using effective communication and problem-solving skills.Key Responsibilities:The Supplier Quality Engineer role will play a significant role in ensuring compliance to Regulatory and Cochlear specific requirements.In this role you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the investigation and resolution of supplier quality issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
• Championing problem-solving efforts and root cause analysis activities with suppliers to eliminate the recurrence of non\xe2\x80\x90conformances.
• Conducting and facilitating thorough technical reviews of supplier changes to ensure appropriate risk mitigation and compliance with Regulatory and Cochlear requirements.
• Collating supplier quality performance data for reporting metrics to key stakeholders.
• Participating in audits of new and existing suppliers (as required) to verify compliance to Quality System Regulations and Cochlear specific requirements.
• Participating in the supplier selection and evaluation process, conducting reviews or evaluations against established requirements in accordance with Cochlear procedures.
• Supporting the creation and maintenance of Supplier Quality Agreements with key material and service suppliers as required.
• Collaborating with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams in the planning and execution of procured product qualification to support sustaining engineering activities as required.

Key Requirements:

• At least 3 years\' experience working in Engineering or quality management in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in engineering or equivalent technical degree.
• In-depth knowledge of the technical aspects of manufacturing and engineering.
• Ability to interpret and evaluate technical specifications and mechanical drawings in consideration of their relation to product and process. This includes an understanding of general dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Good working knowledge of quality management standards such as ISO 9001 and ideally ISO 13485.
• Strong technical writing skills and understanding of good documentation practice.
• Experience working within a Quality Management System.
• Previous experience working in industries relevant such as electronics, injection moulded parts, machined components, precision assembly is an added advantage.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English language is required for this position.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
• Highly detail oriented and organised, with a high standard of excellence.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency.
