May lead a work group or project team consisting of one or more support staff and/or tech/professional staff with some coaching from own supervisor, or may provide advice and guidance in area of specialty. Seeks out new avenues for building internal and external relationships; maintains contacts with existing relationships.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

• Develops strategies that will meet sites objectives for material availability and inventory reduction.
• Recommends and leads team to drive implementation of SMI and other inventory initiatives.
• Implements and drives strategies with CFT representatives to get agreements with suppliers to implement SMI.
• Assists Commodity Managers with negotiations of new and revised contracts with SMI.
• Monitors and reports the progress of SMI and other inventory initiatives.
• Escalates issues as required and recommends course to action to resolve.
• Monitors, reports and ensures adherence to inventory reductions programs/ initiatives.
• Coordinates with the site application team to ensure processes meet the requirement of CFT users.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

• Broad knowledge of an electronic manufacturing environment, product builds process, materials being purchased by the department and the engineering change process.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management, production planning, scheduling, material requirements planning and manufacturing control systems.
• Knowledge of computer applications and the ability to accurately perform tasks in relevant business applications.
• Good analytical and statistical skills.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and working under tight time deadlines.
• Ability to evaluate, prioritize and problem solve a variety of tasks to ensure their timely and accurate completion.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external customers.

Physical Demands

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
• Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
• Occasional overnight travel is required.

Typical Experience

• Six to eight years of relevant experience.

Typical Education

• Bachelor\'s degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experiency.
