JOB SUMMARY

  • Candidate will be responsible in delivering software fixes and enhancements based on requirements provided by production engineering. Mainly focused on mainfarme technologies such as z/OS, COBOL, CICS, JCL and IMS database. Production support experience is
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Development of Mainframe Cobol with strong knowledge in CICS, VSAM, JCL and IMS database
  • Develop and implement fixes and minor enhancements based on issues and requirements raised by production support.
  • Ensure documentation is in place and maintained.
  • Expected to continue to build upon domain knowledge and technical/ proprietary skills to reach levels of expertise, while adapting standard principles to new or changed conditions in day to day work.
  • Can respond in detail to queries given by production support and management. May be called upon to advise on technical issues.
  • Ability to support project implementation during weekends and/or off-hours.
  • Need to manage end-to-end delivery of the projects using Agile methodologies.
  • Ensure all risks and dependencies are highlighted clearly in a timely manner.
  • Experience in production support is an advantage but not a requirement.
Our Ideal Candidate Mandatory Skills:
    • Preferably 3-5 years minimum software development experience
    • Previous working experience in a Bank or any financial institution - Knowledge in banking processes will be an added advantage
    • Production support experience is an advantage but optional.
    • An organized person with good time management and follow-up skills, able to work under pressure to deliver results on schedule and tight timeline
    • Acquire adequate knowledge in both technology and domain that would help in better delivery.
    • Technical development and functional experience
    • Proficiency in Mainframe languages like COBOL, IMS, CICS, VSAM and JCL
    • Worked on the JIRA / Remedy / ADO / Confluence
    • Has good interpersonal and teamwork abilities, and able to adapt in a diverse working environment.
    • Strong problem solving skills.
    • Good formal and informal communication skills in English (written and verbal)
Optional Skills:
  • Knowledge in DBMS, Web service, Linux and other utilities.

Educational Qualification/Certification:
  • Degree in Software Engineering, IT, Computer Science or related fields

  • Ensure delivery of all software artefacts
