System DevOps Engineer

Location:

Menara One Sentrum, KL Sentral, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Salary Range:

MYR 4,000 - 8,000 per month

Responsibilities

Server and Cloud Management:

Participate in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of physical servers and public cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Tencent Cloud).

CI/CD Pipeline Optimization:

Manage and enhance CI/CD workflows to enable automated code builds, testing, and deployment.

Automation and Scripting:

Write or learn to write scripts (Python, Shell, etc.) to automate operational processes and reduce repetitive manual work.

Monitoring and Troubleshooting:

Help maintain comprehensive monitoring, alerting, and logging systems; perform initial troubleshooting for common issues.

Cloud Networking and Security:

Understand cloud networking basics and assist in maintaining secure, compliant infrastructure setups.

Container Platform Support:

Support Kubernetes or containerized environments--assisting with cluster deployment, scaling, and monitoring.

Cross-Team Collaboration:

Work closely with development and operations teams to ensure reliable delivery pipelines and efficient communication.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor's degree or higher, preferably in

STEM

(Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or a related field.

System Skills:

Basic experience with

Linux systems

--comfortable using common commands and researching solutions independently.

Cloud Knowledge:

Some exposure to public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Tencent Cloud) or willingness to learn them quickly.

Automation Concepts:

Understanding of automation/configuration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible); hands-on experience is a plus.

Networking Fundamentals:

Basic understanding of

TCP/IP, HTTP, routing, subnets, and DNS

.

Containerization:

Familiarity with

Docker/Kubernetes

and a strong interest in deepening practical experience.

CI/CD Exposure:

Awareness of CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions); lab or project experience is a bonus.

Scripting Skills:

Ability to write basic

Python

or

Shell

scripts, or eagerness to learn.

Version Control:

Able to use

Git

or similar tools and follow established workflows.

Soft Skills:

Strong willingness to learn, good communication, teamwork, and a proactive mindset.

Nice-to-Haves

Certifications:

AWS Certified, Google Cloud Certified, or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD).

Server Management:

Experience with

bare metal servers

or interest in infrastructure-level work.

Monitoring Tools:

Familiarity with

Prometheus

, or other observability systems.

Problem-Solving:

Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and follow through to resolution.
